Sand Land is aesthetically beautiful despite its largely brown setting, and clever despite its absurdity. It offers charming characters, engaging customisation systems, and a world that expands on Akira Toriyama’s original vision. It knows what it is and embraces it fully, and that makes it one of the year’s most surprising gems.
Sand Land manages the tough task of translating an enjoyable story without overdoing the open-world mechanics in the process. It’s rough in places but is a respectful adaptation of Toriyama’s work and a pleasant experience throughout.
I was always thinking if I was going to buy the game and I'm glad I did it! Different RPG gameplay from other games and fun! The story is an absolute masterpiece, simple and direct making it easy to understand, with some twists, making me full focused on the story and always wanting to see what comes next! The soundtrack suprised me, it was great, and it hits really hard because it fits so well with the cutscene that is playing giving it another dimension! The game graphics was the best I ever seen in an anime style game, with lots of detail but at the right amount bringing Toriyama art to another level and world vibes too! With all of these aspects I can say that it felt that I wasn't watching an anime but playing it, from the beginning till the end, not just participate in the anime major events like most of the anime games! For me this is the best anime game that I've ever played in my live! With this game Akira Toriyama leaves us another piece of is legacy! R.I.P
Sand Land's story, characters, and progression are among its best features, all of which stand out in the JRPG genre and are fondly remembered, even after the credits roll. While its open world may rely a bit too much on the open-world model that many gamers have come to dislike, its exploration still proves to be a rewarding venture that feeds into its satisfying progression system. ILCA and Bandai Namco Entertainment have created something worthwhile in Sand Land, suitable for fans of the original manga and newcomers alike.
A light and light-hearted but no less interesting ARPG, Sand Land. It doesn't have deep gameplay nor the slightest revolutionary ambition, several game elements are so canonical that they make it appear flat to those who are more accustomed to it, yet it can still be played with a certain gusto. The vehicles give an extra something to the journey of Beelzebub and his companions, not only from the point of view of traveling in an unfortunately unexciting open world. The rest is taken care of by the pleasant touch of the late artist who many of us, from an early age, have learned to consider as a loved one.
It’s unfortunate that Sand Land isn’t quite up to the standard that one of Japan’s all-time great artists deserves. It’s not that it’s a bad game. It’s very entertaining, especially when you start messing around with the tank battles. It’s just nothing more than a well-made licensed tie-in, something that you’ll forget soon after you play it, and never feel the need to return to. It really does look great, though. Akira Toriyama is going to be missed.
Sand Land offers an action-packed RPG thrill ride, highlighting the importance of the friendships formed during the adventure and emphasizing the bonds between the characters. However, the game is marred by excessive repetition of activities and discouraging melee combat.
This game is really AMAZING!!!! I am a big fan of Akira Toriyama and loved the world he created, and I am so happy to see a new story drawn in his style through this game. The character design, graphics, and story are great! I'm going to be hooked on this game for a while. I salute Akira Toriyama and Bandai for leaving this game in the world.
Buen juego, aunque con algún fallo técnico en los FPS. Historia divertida y el mapa con misiones secundarias de recadero. Me esperaba más del titulo, aun así se disfruta.
Graphically it is great, but the world and its story are very boring with soulless errand boy missions, the game starts strong narratively but quickly deflates, I had to leave it after 6 hours, a shame because the game is visually good
