One hell of a sports game, with plenty of options and teams to keep you kicking for months.

Definitely a good addition to a soccer fan's 3DS library, though the long term replay value is cut short by the absence of the online multiplayer present in PC and console versions.

Even with a few flaws and missteps, FIFA 12 is a solid soccer game that will satisfy anyone who's been longing for just that on the 3DS. EA's clear understanding of the sport has led to an entertaining game that soccer fans can easily spend hours on, even if there's room for improvement.

With very little content, an unchallenging IA and a badly optimized graphic engine, the only positive aspect of FIFA 12 is the inclusion of the career mode.

  1. Core of Fifa 12 is pretty funny game, but overall its verry easy game with bad career, terribly transfers and strange 3D graphic, especially faces are bad. Expand
  2. I bought this in hope of a decent football game, bearing in mind how FIFA on the home consoles is untouchable these days. Boy, was I ever disappointed. It looks pretty enough, and the 3D effects are well implemented. Sadly the experience falls apart on the field. The game feels sluggish (as if the players are running on treacle) and pressing the sprint button makes no noticeable difference. The passing is woefully imprecise, it's far too easy to misplace passes, making building up play nigh-on impossible. Tackling is also seemingly impossible - press the tackle button, and the opponents will just waltz on by as if your player wasn't there. Shooting is similarly disappointing.

The game's only saving grace is the street mode, which is teams of five, with basically minimal rules. This mode is actually fairly enjoyable, albeit quite limited compared to a good 11v11 experience.

Oh, and online play isn't an option. You can play through local wireless, but not over the internet.

Yes, FIFA has the licensed players, kits and competitions. It is also the king of the console footy games. However, don't bother with this awful version. Honestly, PES2011 is a far more enjoyable take on football for the 3DS and will cost you far less cash (I haven't played the 2012 version yet). Do yourself a favour and pick up PES instead. FIFA 12 3DS is a turd of a game. Avoid.
