  • Summary: Madden NFL 11 redefines the way you experience the game of football. Simpler: from 350 plays down to 1, the all-new GameFlow system puts you in the helmet of an NFL quarterback, to execute an authentic, situational game plan, one play at a time. Quicker: with 60-minute game times reduced to 30, spend more time on the field and less in the playbook. Same drama, half the time. Deeper: Madden NFL 11 is feature-rich, with improved animations and control options, enhanced online functionality, and new broadcast and audio presentation that delivers the NFL experience fans have come to expect. There is no question that many may likely enjoy this game; however, do not expect the complete Madden experience we have come to take for granted.

In an era where millions of football fans obsess over stats, build fantasy teams, and even tune in to watch NFL combine drills, I'm not sure what audience EA is targeting by stripping Madden of its core multiplayer and franchise mode features. Nintendo handhelds may not always attract hardcore gamers, but that doesn't mean football fans who own the devices don't want a fully featured game.
  3. Mar 31, 2011
The lack of features, especially multi-player, really hurts the game.
  4. Mar 31, 2011
The core gameplay is fundamentally solid and filled with potential, but it seems like the developers gave up at halftime instead of pushing through to the end. The end result is a featureless title that feels like a demo of things to come instead of a full $40 retail release, and the lack of multiplayer is a glaring oversight.
  5. May 13, 2011
More tech demo than anything else. [May 2011, p.65]
  6. Decent gameplay let down by a lack of any multiplayer or other modes whatsoever.
  7. Mar 30, 2011
What awaits you is not the heat of intense competition, but the icy, soulless embrace of computer opponents who bend and react with all the humanity of a game of electric football. How pathetic is this? The iPhone version, which is less than a quarter of the cost of the version found on this new-fangled device, has multiplayer capabilities. Chew on that one, and tell me it isn't a little salty.

It's a decent football offering for the 3DS. It kind of sucks that there is not a multiplayer or online option. As well, the AI is not that difficult to defeat even on the most difficult setting., if you are just looking to kill some time and you are a madden fan, it is fun. I would pick it up as a used game though. Expand

The game is ok however the game was just too simple and didn't have many features (multiplayer and franchise mode) that the Madden games are known for. Expand

Madden is usually associated with franchise mode and multiplayer. Well, this game isn't. All this game contains is single player action. The modes the game does offer are very good and enjoyable to play. The soundtrack is very good and enjoyable. Without key features, this game isn't up to par with other Madden NFL titles. Expand
