Moreover, that very story, already boasting multiple endings based on critical decisions by the player, now concludes with a special eighth chapter, a rousing epilogue for Shin Megami Tensei fans. The game's beautifully remastered hand drawn artwork and character portraits benefit from the new system's higher resolution screens, offering players a crisper, higher fidelity experience. Expand

Somehow, despite the complexity, Devil Survivor Overclocked manages to remain accessible throughout.

Even with the Easy difficulty, though, Devil Survivor Overclocked is no easy game to beat, but the experience is ultimately very rewarding.

If you already own or played the DS version, this may not be the reboot you were hoping for. For those coming to the title with a fresh face however, prepare to be impressed.

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked is a strong addition to the current lackluster 3DS lineup. Though it isn't truly a 3DS remake that utilizes all of the systems capabilities (including a very small amount of 3D), it does feature polished graphics, the addition of voice acting, and a new scenario to add to the multiple endings from the original version of the game.

An excellent RPG but a poor port. [Oct 2011, p.65]

In theory Overclocked is a successful remake of one of the DS’ grand role-playing games. Unfortunately preventable technical glitches like regular freezes and occasional crashes take a lot away from its’ theoretically well deserved glory.

I have only witnessed only one ending to this tensei so far, but I definitely would recommend it to hardcore RPG and strategy fans alike. II have only witnessed only one ending to this tensei so far, but I definitely would recommend it to hardcore RPG and strategy fans alike. I can't say much as to it's quality compared to the source material as I have only played this version, but if you haven't played the original it's story is really original and memorable. At the same time, I would not recommend this to those unwilling to put in as much time as sit takes to beat, because this game was not intended to be played by your average casual gamer. Expand

IfFirst off, this is an amazing game, regardless of the fact that it doesn't have any 3D save for the opening sequence and demon fusing. If you're a fan of tactical RPGs like Final Fantasy Tactics or Fire Emblem, I highly recommend it. The game lasts several hours, it took me well over 60 on my first playthrough on the DS version. There are many positives that come with this game, even if you bought the original. There are 20 more demons for a combined 150 demons, a full voice cast which, while people say it isn't good, I thoroughly enjoyed how clear it all sounded, and an added 8th Day which is more then an epilogue. If you're a JRPG fan and own a 3DS, this is a must buy. Expand

Now that I've gotten that out of the way, this is also one of the best games on the system, even though it is a remake. You take the original game, which was great by itself, add in various prologues for whatever ending you achieved in the game, add in some hit or miss voice acting with some recognizable anime people, and you've got a good remake of a great game. If you already played the original to death then you won't enjoy this. There's not enough to warrant buying the game again. However anyone new the game, like I was, would be a fool to pass this one up. As long as you know what your getting into before you buy this game, fans of the series and of RPG's will enjoy this game immensely, even if there isn't any 3D beyond the intro cinematic when you start up the game. You won't be let down if you do that. Expand

Gameplay wise I took me while to understand the mechanics but once I did, it was easy to exploit all of its aspects to my advantage. Get ready for level grinding tho since I found myself hitting some annoying difficulty spikes throughout the game.

Is the 3D **** A 100% yes!! However it doesn't change it from an awesome JRPG. Give it a chance!
