Evolution is a great moniker as this game has helped evolve the traditional adventure gaming genre entirely.
A point 'n' click adventure with fresh ideas and a good storyline. However, the game is full of stupid problems, like stick hunting, and the voice actors are quite bad. [Feb. 05]
A game that has major highs – the plot, the graphics, the soundtrack - and major lows – the arcade sequences, twisty jungle mazes, lame dialogue and timed events.
If you or a person on your Christmas list would like an adventure game with a good short story and wouldn't mind a few old-school arcade moments, Atlantis Evolution might suffice, but it's far from being a must-play.
The story wouldn't be half-bad if it weren't for cliched dialogue (delivered by overly dramatic voice actors) and forgettable characters. [Jan 2005, p.81]
In spite of the awful gameplay, the instant-death mazes, the inventory items that are nearly invisible, and the useless filler of arcade "puzzles", I kept playing because I wanted to see how this game was going to fail at being dramatic this time.
Insipid gameplay, laughably bad mini-games, terribly off-key voice acting and aimlessly rambling storyline. About the best thing I can say for this game is it's short.
