дивовижна гра-квест від українських розробників, яка надовго ще сидить у твоїй уяві від цікавого сюжету.
на жаль продовження не буде. чекаємо на новий шедевр від чудової студії
Small but hearttouching game with neat visuals and music. It's a shame that it failed in sales and developers, perhaps, will go bankrupt. Alas, poor Yorick!
Cradle’s small, but rather open game world includes only our yurt, a spooky abandoned amusement park, an air tram line and endless Mongolian steppe. You’d think it would make a perfect stage for a very personal story, but developers decided otherwise: through newspaper clips, letters and dialogue they chronicle a global epidemic. [Sept 2015, p.85]
I enjoyed my time with Cradle, but I dare say many will not. Its detailed, although imprecise storytelling gives many of its suitors reasons to dislike it, to not understand it, and at worst give up on it. Regardless, I believe there is something quite special at work here.
Cradle successfully combines a strange world with mysterious story and beautiful design. But the actual game principles are, unfortunately, lagging behind.
Short, truncated and incomplete. Wasted potential for an excellent, intriguing science-fiction game. Cradle's biggest sin is the inability to turn the amazing world into equally good video game.
It is so beatiful in every way: story, characters, graphics, world. Maybe gameplay is too simple, but this game is not about it, it is about the story, like Dear Esther or Ethan Carter.
But it'll not reveal it's story so easy. You need to look for pieces of the world under every table and in every box. And you need to play it at least 2 times to understand more.
This game look amazing but the developers decided to **** on it
The story is awesome, unique, the graphics are good, the artwork is amazing
then there is game play, absolutely disgusting, it makes you frustrated and give you headache, with that disgusting controls they decided to make the hardest nastiest puzzles of all time, there is only 4 puzzles in the game (thank god) and you can skip them after you lose (if you manage to lose which is harder than winning the puzzle), they are all the same puzzles over and over again, and its not only a bad puzzle, it's the worst puzzle i have ever played in my entire life, and i played lots of puzzle games
overall:
Story: 9/10
Game play: 1/10
Graphics: 7/10
Artwork: 9/10
never gonna play this game ever again because of the disgusting controls
What's more boring than cooking ? Cooking in a video game ! That's one of the reasons why I quickly left the yurt and ran around in the wilderness, and around, and around, and it was all empty and lifeless and funless and depressing and boring. It's very pretty, until you've seen the same rock pasted for the millionth time. Guys, if your game is so linear, why do you set it in a fake open world ?
Back in the yurt then, where I can open a thousand drawers and read tons of small labels and notes, mostly in English, which is bizarre and not the Mongolia I remember, but fair enough. Sorry but environmental narrative is good when it's in the background, not when it's the only thing to look at. Also, for a game which relies so much on manipulating objects, it's very clunky. Every time I try to put an object back where it was, I end up losing it on the floor. And it seems the crouching key is only there for the purpose of being able to spot things that have fallen to the ground.
I dislike empty game worlds.
This game has great visuals, but that's all. Storytelling is pretty much messed and turns out to be very silly when you dig more deeply into it. Gameplay is almost nonexistent here, we have some sparse adventure elements mixed with tedious and boring arcade parts (gladly we can skip those after failure). This game could be very good, but no, only wasted potential we can see here. What a shame...
SummaryCradle is a sci-fi first-person-view quest designed for the player to explore the surrounding world. The story is built around the relations of the protagonist and a mechanical girl who by quirk of fate found themselves amidst the desert.
