With its challenging missions, good sense of tension (heightened by moody music), engaging storyline and impressive graphics, NovaLogic might have single-handedly revived interest in a much-neglected console.
Complex control schemes and generic (but well-integrated) military storyline cut-scenes aside, this game's a blast to play provided one is in a patient and forgiving-enough mood to forget momentarily about "Red Faction" or "Half-Life".
As a gritty, militaristic first-person shooter, Delta Force features detailed environments (by PS1 standards) and plenty of cool effects to drive home the point that you're an elite shooter loaded with nifty gadgets. [Sept 2002, p.162]
Urban Warfare also plays more like a first person clone of "Metal Gear Solid," and a not bad one at that.
