  1. There are campaigns that will keep you awake at night, second-guessing your tactics, long after you shut the DS off.

I knew to expect greatness when coming into playing the game for the first time, but words simply cannot describe how blown away I am at how remarkable (and insanely addictive) this truly is.
  3. This game has it all; the gameplay is solid and far more balanced than those of previous games, the many characters both return and make memorable debuts, and wide variety of new weapons, features and gaming modes will keep you coming back to quench your thirst for mass destruction. Accordingly, this game blows the competition out of the water.

  1. Simply a timeless, amazing game. Even if your not a fan of TBS, it's a must try. The amount of options for gameplay are staggering, and the multiplayer and interesting new combat mode just sweeten the deal. Only thing missing is wifi battles, but that is included in days of ruin. Expand

Advance Wars: Dual Strike starts off very well indeed, with fun, clear-cut and achievable missions, not to mention the beautiful art style and great use of the DS's features, but unfortunately (just like its predecessor Black Hole Rising) it gets far too hard, far too quickly. I am pretty much a strategy game novice, but still, getting totally stuck on Mission 8 (of about 30) is surely not on. It became absolutely impossible. Of course it’s not impossible, I know people who’ve done it, but I cannot understand how you are supposed to defeat an enemy that doesn’t die! I was forced to give up on this ludicrously difficult mission and I soon realised that most of the other modes and options (though not all it has to be said) are just as futile, with battles that go on forever and ever and always end in a stalemate (well, they don’t technically end, you give up through boredom and frustration). In fact, if Advance Wars achieves anything it’s to prove that war itself is tedious, pointless and doesn’t really work. In summary: If, like me you are inexperienced in the strategy genre and want to take a chance on this, don’t bother. The developer has clearly decided that this game is for the hardest of hardcore strategists only and to hell with anyone else who wants to join in. My advice would be to go for Fire Emblem on the GBA instead. It’s far superior, with a much more reasonable learning curve. Expand
