  1. All of this wonderful single player and multiplayer comes polished in an aforementioned pastel graphical environment at which you can't help but smile.
  2. 85
The gameplay is what makes Puyo Pop Fever a brilliant design. It's a timeless design that works well in a handheld environment, and it's immensely addictive when you discover the mechanics that can wipe out a chunk of the filled bin in a single shot.
  3. The main single player does have a weak story line, but the multiplayer is a total riot.
  4. 80
Its simple controls and manic gameplay make the game stand out in a genre already filled with mediocrity. If you can get past the irritating voiceovers, you'll find an entertaining experience you can't wait to share with your friends.
  5. If you can tolerate the forcibly cute presentation, you'll find Puyo Pop Fever to be a solid, addictive puzzle game.
  6. A videogame that, although still pleasant and enjoyable to play, feels more than a little stale and wholly regurgitated. [June 2006, p.123]
  7. Despite its reputation as a Japanese classic, the real puzzle about Puyo Pop Fever is who needs it on DS?
