  1. With mentally deficient in-game opponents and groan-inducing fetch-quests galore, the real draw of SNK Vs. Capcom Card Fighters DS is the collection aspect.
  2. More than seven years later, this unexpected DS follow-up doesn't have quite the novelty of its predecessor, but it is one of the better card-battling games out there. [May 2007, p.86]
  3. Fans of the old Cardfighters game or the Capcom vs SNK series in general will love this, but the cardfighting hardcore have probably already moved to Yu-Gi-Oh.

It’s hard not to recommend SNK Vs. Capcom Card Fighters DS simply because it has so much going for it. An easy to use battle system, classic characters, and a solid visual style however, with the aforementioned glitch and poor translation you can’t help but feel a bit disappointed when you power this one up.
  5. Card Fighters DS just feels shallow when compared to other TCG-type games out, especially on the DS.
  6. A very sensible card-battling system with a theme that should be pleasingly familiar to seasoned gamers. [July 2007, p.120]
  7. SNK vs. Capcom Card Fighters DS is an average showing from SNK Playermore. Lazy in translation, it seems they have missed an opportunity to make something special for strategy fans, Capcom and SNK enthusiasts, and card battling fanatics.
  8. Where's Wi-Fi? RPG mode? Not a total wash-out, but it is limited. SNK should have spent more time combing the rules and less combing Dante's hair. [JPN Import; Mar 2007, p.73]
  9. It’s a shame, really. It’s sad to see one of the most popular handheld games of its time be devolved into this poor excuse of a card game.
  10. Card Fighters DS is a sequel that does not, for one moment, understand why anyone liked its predecessor.
  11. SNK vs. Capcom Card Fighters DS is an often entertaining game, which makes its shoddy production and localization especially disappointing.
  12. I tried so hard to like Card Fighters DS, but I feel it's a good card game stuck inside of a bad video game. The source material was there, and it had potential to be lots of fun, but the method of earning cards is repetitive, you are stuck in a static location throughout the game, and it is basically impossible to complete the game until SNK redistributes new cartridges.
  13. With the pedigree of the original behind it you might think this is a safe purchase, but don't be fooled ... SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters DS is a flawed experience from beginning to end.
  14. 35
Without a doubt one of the biggest letdowns thus far on DS.
  15. 30
The worst flaw, however, is the game-crashing bug that occurs when you talk to a certain character later in the game. How SNK Playmore let this game ship with such a glaring flaw is beyond me.
  16. 20
A shocking effort, then, and one of the more memorable disasters in recent games history.
  17. SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters DS takes everything I remember about playing tradable card games, highlights the bad parts, and then breaks.
  18. It is broken in the literal sense of not working as sold and, as such, must be scored appropriately. That the game underneath the bodged localisation is also, figuratively, a broken shell of what it once was and absolutely nowhere near as good as it should have been, is more than anything, deeply, deeply sad.

All you do is get characters as cards. Then you see two cards together without any animation just rumble and flashing and then numbers drop down. I will not pay for a game that only flash with barely no animation whatsoever. Not even for free I will get this game. I prefer to play street fighter 1 (arcade version) and King of fighters 94 (neo geo) instead of this foolish peoples' game. If you think is cool, awesome, exciting, etc. Then you are not smart enough to buy what is worth it. I prefer to play my old neopocket game SNK Vs Capcom - Match of The Millennium. SNK VS CAPCOM MATCH OF THE MILLENNIUM IS A VERY OLD FIGTHING GAME AND IS MORE FUN THAN THE DUMB CARD GAME THEY CREATED.
NEXT CAPCOM VS SNK BETTER BE A FIGHTING GAME WITH ALL THE CHARACTERS FOR THE NINTENDO DS AS AN APOLOGIES INSULTING THE INTELLIGENCE OF US THE CUSTOMERS. IF YOU BOUGHT THIS GAME YOU ARE ALREADY THE LAUGHING STOCK OF THE WHOLE CAPCOM AND SNK COMPANY.

It gets 2 because whilst it's not the worst game in the world there is but little to redeem it. The fighting system is poor, (thats the main part of the game) and organizing your cards is tedious and relatively unintuitive (another core of the game). It is cool seeing all the the Capcom and SNK characters in card form, (phoenix wright characters make pleasant additions) but seeing familiar faces does not warrant any of your gaming time.
