  • Summary: Shoot bad guys, collect gold and stop a train robbery in The Wild West. Use the Touch Screen to shoot and throw dynamite in both 2D and 3D levels set in wild, untamed environments. Put on your cowboy hat and load up your six-shooters for the gun-slinging fun of The Wild West! [Majesco Games]

  1. Good idea, terrible execution. Pervasive flaws, frequent glitches, and frustrating design choices ruin what could have been a simple fun shooter.
  2. If you stay with the game long enough to collect bonus coins, you can unlock minigames and send them to friends via a local wireless connection: a good bonus, but probably not enough incentive to endure the rigors of the main game. [Oct 2007, p.89]

There is one good thing about The Wild West. The character design, the actual cut scene drawings are pretty well done. The names, story, dialogue, graphics, sound and gameplay completely overshadow that by creating an experience that is nearly broken.
  4. A mindless clickfest that may put a little wear on your touch-screen but leaves you wanting something more. The biggest problem is that the controls aren't as responsive as they should be and the gameplay isn't compelling enough to recommend this game for anything more than a rental.
  5. The graphics are from about 15 years ago, the programming is poorly coded, and the written dialogue is laugh out loud embarrassing. The budget price of $20 is not worth the frustration.
