Manages to capture the full-realism of 3D driving on a handheld device without having to make the graphics small and jagged.
While extremely short and lacking multiplayer, Monster Truck Madness is gorgeous and still provides a fun racing experience.
Fans of the bigger versions of Monster Truck Madness will find almost everything they need in this impressive handheld version. [Fall 2003, p.48]
Visuals are definitely the strength of the game. Controls and audio would fight for second place. Variety, unfortunately, is last.
A quality racing title. The lack of statistics and multiplayer mode is a shame, absolutely, but the design's core is important as well, and the racing action is definitely well produced on the limited Game Boy Advance hardware.
For quick, pick me up & play game, Monster Truck Madness will not disappoint. The 3D graphics are impressive and the racing is smooth & polished. However those gamers looking for a more in-depth racing experience will be disappointed.
The vehicles don't act how they would in real life and it's so short on thrills that it needs to sit atop a stack of phone books to see over the dashboard. [Oct 2003, p.145]
