  • Summary: In the world of NHL Hitz 20-03, hard-checking and highlight-reel action is common. This year's installment in the action-packed NHL Hitz series showcases three-on-three gameplay with players who leap, glide, check, pass, and score on defenders. New features include a deeper New Season mode, player trades, a playoff tree, and official NHL awards. The game also boasts bigger, stronger, and faster players, plus improved goalie logic, behavior, animations, and control, making it tougher to score. Expand

  1. The GBA version doesn't have the minigames of the GCN version, but the core game is loads of fun. [Jan 2003, p.176]
  2. A sleek engine, a crazy gameplay style, and reasonably good sound combined with excellent visuals make NHL 2003 quite the pack.
  3. 70
With another round of development on the title, it's possible that the Game Boy Advance version of the series can match the console version in almost every way.
  4. While NHL Hitz 2003 would be a great mini game in a console game, maybe something one would see in a Midway adaptation of "Animal Crossing," it’s not a deep or fun enough game worthy of a $40 purchase.

I've got good News, and bad news. The bad news is that sports fans have had virtually nothing to cheer about on the GBA. The good news is that this is a rare bright spot for sports GBA fans... Great sound, pretty good gameplay, great controls... There's lots to like about this game. If you like hockey, you'll love this game! Expand
