  1. THIS IS THE BEST ADVENTURE ON THE GAME BOY ADVANCE!
  2. 84
It's a tad easy, but it's also so fun and addictive that any platform game fan will enjoy it.

A good game with a lengthy quest and a decent challenge.
  4. The only real sticking point with Spyro is a seeming ultra-sensitivity to the controls.
  5. Although things can get tedious, it's a solid mix of adventuring and action. [Winter 2001, p.55]
  6. If you’re not a Spyro fan, this is still a passable and thoroughly engrossing game that exhausts you with all the item searching – but hey, that’s what a good platform game does.
  7. 80
The game’s only real flaw is that Spyro kind of handles like a broken bicycle, and steering him/her/it through the pseudo-3D landscape can get frustrating after the nine-hundredth time you’ve inadvertently come too close to a puddle of lethal water.
  8. Once you're used to floating diagonally and hopping ledges toward loftier areas, the game becomes quite fun.
  9. Together, the sum of these interesting parts holds up quite well.
  10. Spyro has definitely not lost its audio-visual lustre since its first inception, but it has some ways to go to dislodge Mario on the handheld platform.
  11. In the end any substantial complaints I have regarding Spryo: Season of Ice are centered on the fact that current platformers have turned into giant scavenger hunts. Those may be fun but I’ve had my fill already.
  12. Eye-popping visuals and slick game play. [Dec 2001, p.172]
  13. The new territory of the Game Boy Advance isn't too hospitable to our fiery friend. [Jan 2002, p.98]
  14. It may border on blasphemy to say so, but Spyro: Season of Ice might have been better off as a side-scrolling platformer, ala Sonic or Klonoa.
  15. It's not bad, but it could have been much more. [Dec 2001, p.264]
  16. It runs poorly, presents itself poorly, and simply is true and utter trash. The only area of remote interest is the 3D level, but that alone isn't worth the price of the game.

  1. Spyro's Game Boy Advance adventure isn't without it's flaws, it's graphics are ok, as is the sound, controls are good, the story is good, and the gameplay is solid, it suffers from some flying issues which mess up the plat forming, all in all even with it's flaws it's a good game. Once you get past the isometric perspective in which the game is played in, Spyro:Season of Ice is an absolute blast to play. In some respects, even better to play than its' PS brethren. One of the things I loved most about it is how its' just as involving as the console games and, even, lasts as long. Hopefully, we'll see more of these in the future. I hope so. Full Review »

Well, it's pretty fun for one thing. After a while it gets extremely boring. But yes, it is certainly fun when you play it for the first time.
