  1. Packed with atmosphere, accessible gameplay and sweet visuals, Beyond Good & Evil has most definitely reached beyond our expectations. Don't miss it.
  2. One of the best games this year, and one of the best action/adventure titles ever released.
  3. Beyond Good & Evil's gameplay is part and parcel of an elegantly imagined gameworld. The animation is so smooth as to be almost flawless.
  4. Delivers a fantastic story with that's almost as impressive. Everything comes together beautifully to create one of the most engrossing titles of the year.
  5. Mixing Walt Disney's colorful whimsy, the industrial distopias of French cinematographers Jeunet and Carot ("City of Lost Children"), and "Zelda" mastermind Shigeru Miyamoto's genius for flexible gameplay, BG&E is mesmerizing, ominous, and, most of all, memorable. [Dec 2003, p.200]
  6. While Beyond Good & Evil feels pretty short, its interesting premise and impressive presentation pick up the slack and make it a game well worth playing.
  7. It's an 'experience' as much as a game, meaning that it will leave as many people cold as it grabs by the right half of the brain. Beyond good, then, but not quite excellent. [Christmas 2003, p.104]

If they don't make a sequel, they do a diservice to all mankind.

I honestly think BG&E is one of the best games I've ever played, (and I've played a lot). I definitly recommend checking this game out.

While a lot of people seem to like this game I'm in a minority that don't like it so much. It's not a bad game per se but the story is just a rehash of fantasy and sci-fi cliches and it doesn't have any fun with them. The locations are bland as its all caves and factories, caves and factories, over and over again. Worst, the game is incredibly short. Shorter if you don't get stuck working with the more frustrating moments. They say this game was meant to be a part of a trilogy but if you ask me they say that because the game is really unfinished. The few novelities it has like the camera games and such don't defeat the fact that it is too short and what we get is something we've seen done better in other games. Expand
