While its overall game quality and list of extras isn't nearly as consistent or flashy as its Mega Man cousin, there's still a lot to like... especially at the reasonable price of less than thirty bucks.
  2. Mega Man X Collection follows the same basic formula as Capcom's excellent first Mega Man compilation, but it just doesn't have quite as much to offer.
  3. Enjoyment of the X Collection will hinge on whether you enjoyed these games in the first place, because there isn't much content to be found aside from art galleries. But fans of the series and those who like the sort of action Mega Man provides will be very happy.
  4. While the "Mega Man Anniversary Collection" contained more meat, there's simply a ton of robots to blast, dozens of armor capsules to grab, and really no good reason not to let ol' Blue back in your life once again.

Unless you really, really like the franchise, this collection will do nothing whatsoever for you -- it's six largely identical games of varying quality. For those who can't get enough of that robo-rock/paper/scissors action, the exceptional quality of these ports (and the promise of a "new" spin-off) should be more than enough to offset the repetition.

A respectable compilation of the blue bomber's other adventures, though it pales a bit in comparison to the Anniversary Collection released a couple of years back.
  7. Collections such as these should serve as a punctuation mark on the series, and as such should come packed full of extras so that even those fans who already own the included games individually will feel enticed to return to the checkout counter. That isn't the case here.
  8. What's not to love about games where you play as a robotic savior who must navigate his way through an augmented, mechanized, futuristic Earth filled with bottomless pits and ditches of conical metal honed to sharp points that threaten your success, all played to rocking and memorable tunes?

Nicely done. All the games seem to be identical to their original versions. Some people may say otherwise... however, I've played most Nicely done. All the games seem to be identical to their original versions. Some people may say otherwise... however, I've played most of these games in the past and they are the same. Gameplay is nice... a little frustrating at times. It definitely brings back a challenge for today's gamers - the kind of challenge that many of today's games can't offer. Bonuses aren't massive, but the games shouyld justify buying the collection. Full Review »

A megaman collection is, for the most part, something you will definitely buy and something you probably never will. X collection is no A megaman collection is, for the most part, something you will definitely buy and something you probably never will. X collection is no different, and will probably fail to bring in any new fans to the iconic character. This game is shallow, meaning there is very miniscul amounts of extra content worth unlocking, and the 7 games included are nothing spectacular, all extremely similar in gameplay and execution. Simply said, it drowns in megaman, and if your a fan, enough said. With a resonable amount of boredom and extra cash, I would only suggest this title to ones who are willing to except the fact that it offers absolutely nothing revolutionary and new. Its an outdated mesh of mediocre to fun sidescrolling mayhem. Full Review »
