The mixture of dungeon crawler, hunt for loot and dualstick action works surprisingly well, eventually you don’t think about the mobile roots anymore. But towards the end the weak balancing takes a lot of the fun away.
Awesome game with a lot of replay-ability. Reminds me of binding of Issac with a medieval style and a little more depth of game-play. Even though its rogue-like game you can level up your character and unlock new areas which makes it feel almost as though it has a campaign progression, unlike other rogue-like games where I feel as though there is no progression. I definitely recommend this game to any fans of retro style rogue-like games such as binding of Issac, I know I love it. Not to mention the devs are great and responsive, I had a question and had it answered within in minutes on their live stream.
Here is a genre I like very much. You don’t need to solve puzzles or be scared of being lost on a big map, you don’t need to struggle with complex RPG elements… All you need to do is to focus on the carnage!
It is said to be roguelike but doesn’t roguelike mean turn-based? Hero Siege is not turn-based, quite the opposite, it is a fast-paced game. There are some simple RPG elements; you level up when you earn enough experience killing monsters, you gain talent/ability points and spend them however you like when you level up, you can carry an item and you can buy something from hidden shops. It is just the way I like in such a game. I would define Hero Siege as hack and slash.

It is a great game to play with friends online, Hero Siege brings more than 10 classes, powerful enemies, beautiful maps. If you like 2D games, you will love Hero Siege.
I played an older version of Hero Siege that I got from the humble store, and thuroughly enjoyed its blend of arcade action and ARPG character progression, and roguelike item and enemy generation. While it smacks strongly of a cellphone game, it is generally of a superior quality to those games and is easily played in a window, making it a good break-taking game from more serious titles. It has the potential for immense challenge but can be comfortably played at one's own pace. However, the DRM-free version of the game was never updated post-release and upon installing the Steam version I was surprised with a very different and much more aggressively challenging experience, with more playable classes and a handful of paid DLCs. Surprisingly my character saves carried over from the non-steam version, but I was unable to make much headway in the levels regardless. I can still recommend the game, especially in light of its very low price.
well at first all the looting and killing is fun and then it makes you continuously play it over and over again to increase the difficulty, every time you beat the game you can move up to the next level. thats fine. but when you have 50,000 + hp and you keep getting instakilled losing all your relics and starting over each time you get burned. ive been on the lvl im on for 3 days , the one before took a week. rediculous, time wasted i could have been playing black ops 3.
