There is no semblance of a tutorial or anything to ease you into this multi-faceted game. After hours of play, I stumbled upon HELP which all players should read to get the most out of Adventure Bar Story. Even after these failings, Adventure Bar Story is an enjoyable, quirky fantasy romp that only the Japanese can deliver.

It's fun for a while if you're in it for the RPG, but it's great for a lot longer if you're the sort of person who can't resist a checklist or a spreadsheet. On the whole, this game is a steal-but only for the right sort of person.

Adventure Bar Story is good, but we're not sure you'll be asking for seconds.

Its redeeming qualities are primarily the same elements that drag it down. It seems that somewhere along the line the creators forgot what every food enthusiast worth his salt should know, "everything in moderation."

Adventure Bar Story feels like it should be great. Between enjoyable combat and the simple restaurant management, all the ingredients for something special seem to be in place. Unfortunately, things don't really rise like they should thanks to the gameplay's glacial narrative and repetitive grinding.

Adventure Bar Story is a decent game. It hurts me to say it but decent is about as good as it gets. There are plenty of small moments of enjoyment, but the overall experience feels weighed down by blandness.

Full marks for originality, but this unusual mixture of RPG and tycoon simulation doesn't quite have the killer ingredients to make it fly off the menu.

    Excellent time sink.

I don't usually go for games like this, its kind-of 'Cooking Mamma'' meets 'Final Fantasy' dungeoneering. A real
    interesting twist of gameplay.

I recommend it as one of the better phone games, deeper than many of the arcade style things flooding the app store right now.

If you enjoy this, try Recettear, or conversely try the Recettear demo on STEAM to see if you like this kind of game. Its pretty similar in design.
