Even with a large amount of content that keeps downloading after the initial install, though, there's something about Battlestone that leaves you feeling just a tad unfulfilled. Just like the four-door model usually ends up the smarter choice over the two-seater, there are games out there that don't look as sexy but will probably hook you in more completely in the end.
Zynga's latest free-to-play entry promises a fun ride full of fantasy tropes, gorgeous visuals, and plenty of achievable upgrades along the way.
Battlestone has polish to spare and is fun in small doses, but over time it becomes too much of a grind to maintain your interest.
Except from the visuals there's little to highlight about the game. Fans of the genre may give it a try, keeping in mind the game relies heavily on in-app purchases.
As it is, while Battlestone may provide you with a handful of hours of entertainment, you'll most likely reach a point where the game has nothing left to give.
The colorful visuals of Battlestone can't quite make up for the lackluster game underneath.
