For a small fee, Bike Baron offers a really fun cross/trial bike game. It is a great success from every point of view: super playable, and with cool animations, it allows you to run with an old guy's bike on many chaotic levels, in 4 different difficulty settings (Easy to Extreme). Those challenges are easy at first, but they quickly become very difficult and addictive. The game even features a track editor, with the ability to share your work with others. An excellent surprise on iOS platforms.

Although some may get hung up on comparisons to relatively recent titles, stunt driving has been a staple on the App Store and Bike Baron is one of the best, sporting rock solid controls; difficulty scaling from easy to ludicrous; and community shareable levels for near endless content.

An exceptionally polished action-arcade title, Bike Baron mixes precision controls with fun physics for a highly-engaging experience.
  4. Dec 18, 2011
Overall, the immense difficulty of Bike Baron makes it a poor choice for any gamers who become frustrated easily. For those who enjoy a challenge, few games are more enjoyable than Bike Baron.
  5. Nov 10, 2011
Bike Baron is a game that provides fun and frustration in equal measure, but balances these at just the right level to perfectly hit that 'one more go' approach. Fans of Trials style games shouldn't hesitate to pick this one up.

In a sense, Bike Baron lacks originality. But when it comes to the outstanding level design, high visual polish, and uniqueness in being the only great game of its kind on the App Store, it's hard to criticize the developers for being influenced by some great games and wanting to perfect that formula for a different platform.

An exciting and addictive bike game. Clever gameplay, fluid graphics and challenging levels make Bike Baron an instant classic.

Bike Baron is a refreshing relic from the shareware era, but it takes some from the one of the greatest XBLA successes. This iPad version of the TrialsHD is sometimes painfully difficult, but extremely fun at the same time. [Dec 2011]

It's the closest thing to Trials HD you can get on iOS, but its difficulty gets overly frustrating at times.
  10. Dec 21, 2011
It's a lot of fun to play, on par with more famous title like Angry Birds, even if it's lasting appeal is not the same. You won't regret buying it.

Difficulty aside, the only serious issue I've had with Bike Baron is the lack of a quick level reset.

Bike Baron may not be the most original of games, but who cares? This super tough app packs just the right amount of value into a small 37.4 MB package, and with possible updates on the way, you should definitely hop on this ride.
  13. Oct 26, 2011
Bike Baron is frustratingly difficult, but in the best possible way - it never crosses that fine line between "hard" and "unfair." It's the best Trials HD clone to hit iOS.
  14. Oct 25, 2011
It owes much to Trials HD, but Bike Baron is one of the most addictive iOS games around.
  15. Oct 25, 2011
Bike Baron is a fun and silly game that will put you through the grinder before it's done with you.
  16. Dec 16, 2011
Bike Baron is not a masterpiece or something that will be remembered by decades of players, but it's a honest 99 cent game, which offers hours of bike-fun and a powerful in-game editor which let you create your own track. Take that if you want a light-hearted entertainment.

The problem is that escaping death is eventually impossible. From a fun, challenging beginning, having you gleefully wrestle a bike to the end of madcap courses, Bike Baron descends into a gruelling, joyless battle of wills: you against a sadistic games designer who favours obscene precision over all else, and doesn't provide the tools (an on-screen speedo, say) that would enable you to succeed.

Really well made game to the last detail with nice graphics and awesome sound. On the other side I believe some levels are just impossible to get past. Thats why I give 8 out of 10 Full Review »

This game is simply awesome. First and foremost the game mechanic is almost perfect. After hours and hours of gameplay you might have the feeling that you've actually learned something about driving a cross :) That's amazing. You don't need anything else here. Just take a great mechanic, simple physics, WICKED level design and well balanced checkpoint and rewarding system. It delivers! Thumbs up for the Baron! Full Review »
