If you are truly positive about your answers, straightway you got to quest for Cthulhu Saves the World! Besides, how long ago you got a chance to play as a he-man (and quite an original one) baddy?
Wow, Breath of Death VII was awesome, and this game takes it to a whole nother level. If you have not the bought the dual pack of these two games and love RPGs, be ashamed of yourself. This one took me about 10 hours to beat (BoD took 7) and its an RPG that is streamlined, to the point, funny and just a ton of fun to play. Very little grinding, so if you like RPGs but don't want to them to be endless, this is perfect. I cannot recommend these games enough. Go buy them. Go do it now. And there are modes you unlock when you beat the game. It's just great stuff. Both games are $3 even at full price COMBINED. Go buy them.
Cthulhu Saves the World is a fun and well-designed tribute to the JRPGs genre, full of contents that entertain for hours and cost as little as 2 euros.
It's a surprisingly entertaining adventure, deeply respectful of its source material, and not afraid to make jokes and game design adjustments where appropriate.
This game is not your hardcore JRPG, it is nice simple and cleanly designed game. The game has witty and funny character interaction, and overall really worked for me. The only downside could perhaps be that the game has some really confusingly long dungeon layouts if you try to hunt down all the treasure which in itself is easy enough once you clear them. A good feature is that if you fight enough battles in an areas enemies won't randomly appear unless you start a fight manually making exploring much easier.
The game is surprisingly ironic and hilarious, and it is very family friendly. It isn't a long game, but it will give you about an hour or two of play per Dollar you spend which is good considering its only a few dollars.
Everyone should buy this game because its too much good gameplay for so little money.
Definitely a good game, but it does have a few drawbacks to it. One of them was that the front-view battle system. I know some people really like it, but I prefer the more Final Fantasy-esque side-view battle system personally, so that was a bit of a turnoff. Also, while I know it's only a few dollars to purchase and I was NOT expecting a behemoth like FF 6, I was expecting at least an hour or two longer of gameplay. It just seemed as if it were a bit TOO short an experience for me. Otherwise, it is a great throwback to the NES era of RPGs and some good humor to it as well.
What is this, a parody game or an actual retro-RPG? Can't really answer. Fact is you'll find yourself pressing the very same button all over again and that's really bad.
Very very overrated game with bad graphics and extremely short playtime for a so-called throwback to the old superNES RPG (5 hours or so). The humor is quirky at best. But at least it's cheap.
In an attempt to revert to the 'Good Ol' Days' of 16-bit and 8-bit RPGs, Cthulhu Saves The World manages to be slightly amusing, while simultaneously ruining the game-play and shortening the length. The jokes are fairly amusing to RPG players, you'll get references to tonnes of old 16 bit RPGs, Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, all that. But the gameplay is mind-numbingly dull and frustrating. Combat is just a damage rush which involves you trying to kill the enemies as quickly as possible due to the rising attack power the enemies gain every turn. This is even worse against bosses, which, in a good RPG would be prolonged and tense engagements. It's slightly amusing but the gameplay just makes it a chore to play.
