  • Summary: Devilishly smart. Deploy wicked tactics and dominate your enemies! Build the ultimate underground lair and summon diabolical forces to do your bidding. It’s tower defense…without the tower…and a lot more offensive!

Dungeon Keeper’s pared-down reboot is fun on its own right, even if it's not quite the same creature as the excellent classic games it’s based on.

Dungeon Keeper for iOS is a well-made mobile update of a classic.

It's not Dungeon Keeper, but Dungeon Keeper has enough going for it that it's worth a punt.

It's a huge shame, because Dungeon Keeper is such a great franchise. I vividly remember getting hooked on the original for the very first time, and hooking in non-strategy fans with its unique perspective and visual style. But you're getting none of that here, as you're instead presented with a hollow freemium shell of what once was.

It could've been a chance to give a second life to an old classic, but EA got this all wrong. The managing side is poor, and a greedy microtransaction system ultimately spoils the fun.

The tragedy of Dungeon Keeper is that every so often, it shows glimpses of what makes it great. You can see the classic game is in there somewhere: its genius, and what it could have been. But then the gates slam shut, as though the Dungeon Keeper himself is kept in a larger meta-dungeon, whose bean-counting overlord tells you to come back later, or maybe even tomorrow. Or pay up.

Dungeon Keeper is not a video game, not any more. Instead it’s just a virtual beggar, constantly demanding your spare change and offering nothing in return.

This is just another pay-to-win game, like dragon mania, clash of clans and rubbish like that. If you want to enjoy Dungeon Keeper on your phone, download DOSBox on Android and install the first PC Dungeon Keeper on it! it was even free on GOG.com on valentine's day. give EA what deserves: absolutely nothing, or at least a negative review! This game is pure garbage! All EA had to do was revamp the original or the second game to satisfy the fans, but instead they produce this shameless, cheeky, cash grab of a farce and has completely trashed the Dungeon Keeper series. Expand

Who at EA thought this would actually be an enjoyable game? I loaded the game on my iPhone, played it for three days and then deleted it out of disgust. The old franchise was fantastic, but EA has butchered any good memories of enjoyable gameplay that I had. Expand

The sad thing about this game is that there is a gem of a game hiding in this...very very deep behind a ridiculous paywall. EA used this VERY much revered IP to gouge Dungeon Keeper fans. After about 5 min of playing you are waiting 1 day to clear a single block, you need to upgrade your dungeon heart to upgrade your dark library in order to upgrade your workshop for the next tier trap...this very quickly turns into a week long endeavor. However, this did inspire me to pick up the Dungeon Keepers 2 from gog..so some good came from this EA pay scheme. Expand

This is a disgrace for EA. Saying this about an company that had no grace in the first place is all you need to know.

    As i havent reached
the 150 characters here are some more words to describe this piece of software (software, cause you know... its NOT a game):

ripoff, shame, disgusting, faul, nasty, foul, ABONIMATION.

EA you can improve the score of this review for only $100. What's that? You don't want to pay money for something so trivial? Right. No one does, stop trying so damn hard. Expand
