Revolution 60 is a bold, cinematic action game with ambition to spare.

Revolution 60 is a brave and ambitious cinematic adventure. It's probably not the best good looking game on App Store, but it is definitely worthy of your attention.

Revolution 60 would make a terrific animated movie, but as a game, I'm left a little cold by it.

Revolution 60 comes with a nice story, characters and dialogues, but fails to deliver in terms of gameplay.

Revolution 60 is a new form of storytelling in a well made package, but there are elements that detract from the overall experience.

Revolution 60 is a difficult title to recommend if you’re after tight and interesting gameplay. Although the idea behind the game is fantastic, unfortunately the execution leaves a lot to be desired. [Episode 7, September 2014]

Probably one of the few iPhone games I've played that didn't feel like a cash-in or a watered down clone of something else. Truly original and a great deal of fun. Expand

The battle system is fun and unique. I've played it through three times so far, and more are on the way I'm sure; replayability is extremely high because of the differences between the different storylines. Expand

Revolution 60 isAn excellent story, interesting characters, and novel combat style make this one of my favorite iOS games to date. Revolution 60 is particularly awesome as a re-introduction to gaming in general, as it was for me, or for someone looking for something a little bit deeper than your typical Candy Crush-style iOS game. I love the character models and forgive the sacrifices made to the level designs in the name of device compatibility. Expand

I'll separate this review in 2 parts, and why I give it a 2.

The game itself is buggy, with controls on the iOS being very specific, and at sometimes unresponsive; prompting me to restart the game. The graphics are what you'd expect for an iOS game....when the touch had first came out maybe. I can think of game devs with much less money and much less manpower who can create a better graphics engine. But that's besides the point.

The story is very linear. The choice system is similar to Fable. There is a good choice, and there is a bad choice. There's no ambiguous angle, no difference between good or bad. The story is very linear. I cannot say that enough. Holiday must do this, Holiday must do that. This game is 10 years too late, where choices such as these are similar to something you'd find in a child's game in 2002.

Don't play this game, whether it be for iOS, or the PC port.

The art style is veryI'm not sure who the target demographic for something like this actually is? So let's start with the aesthetics. The art style is very amateur, featuring character models that make Barbie dolls start questioning body image standards. The animation is choppy, and despite being done in UDK, it looks like a game that could have come out during the 32 bit era.

Second, while I understand the need to keep a product under budget, the voice acting and dialogue was cringe-inducing, and frankly, I found myself honestly wondering: "who honestly talks like this?" It's like someone who knows nothing about writing would come up with, based on fan fiction or something else more amateur. I honestly don't get it.

Third, look, even David Gage's games being heavily based on QTEs are getting old and dated. It's a lazy gimmick that only caters to the lowest common denominator in gaming, and unless you at least have some of David's ability to tell a strong narrative, stop it. Seriously, stop it.

Lastly, if you're going to release marketing blurbs such as: "It's like Heavy Rain meets Mass Effect," I highly recommend you have a credible source for such hyperbole. Moreover, anyone unironically comparing it to NOLF, probably has never played any of the games in that series, and I'd find it a hard time taking that person seriously. Look, if you want your game to do well, you should present it honestly, how it is, then let the market decide if its viable or not. Cloaking a bad game in buzzwords only increases the likelihood of a backlash, once they find out it's simplistic and poorly designed garbage.

So, to summarize, this game is lazy, unimaginative, disingenuous and lacks creative thought and design. I could not honestly recommend it in good faith, and feel like the whole thing needs to go back to the drawing board.

In reality, the game is "functional" but that's about it. The sound is bad, writing is bad and the gameplay is lacklustre at most. I would skip this.
