The game's excellent music just can't compensate for its poor graphics or clunky interface.
The primary problem with Mall Tycoon is that you don't get nearly enough feedback from your shoppers.
While this might seem to be a mall rat's dream, Mall Tycoon falls short of the mark as either a business simulation or a shopping center builder.
Mall Tycoon's anemic execution really turns any simulation aspects into micromanagement chaos.
This game is so not fun, it almost put me into a coma. [May 2002, p.86]
Vintage 1994 graphics and laughable gameplay make this one the first games of 2002 to snatch a deserved one-star rating.
