It may be a little too hard for some and the learning curve is definitely steep, but this is a game that's worth the effort.
Offers a good amount of playability for anyone even remotely interested in motocross or racing games in general.
The courses are twisted and the mud splatters nice and thick. [Dec 2001, p.95]
Twisting the throttle and going may be fun in real life, but without a way to translate the handling of rhythm, body control, and other deeper elements of racing strategy, it's going to get old relatively quickly.
It isn't anything revolutionary, just very solid, balanced between simulation and arcade, delivering just enough technique to satisfy demanding players.
If you really get into the way the game handles you will find hours and hours worth of stuff to keep occupied thanks to the horde of gameplay modes and challenges to accomplish.
