MY HERO ULTRA RUMBLE exceeds expectations as an extraordinary take on the battle royale genre. It’s packed with many of the best heroes, and a few villains, showcasing their amazing Quirks for great, action-packed matches.
the game is shockingly fun acting as if you really are the character the microtransactions how ever are shockingly high its like trying to unlock an apex character all over again and most of the skins in the game are just re works of there canon selfs (wow always wanted to play tsuyu just without her goggles glad i spent glad i spent 10+$ to get it) if you can get past that though you can have a blast
A fun battle royale brawler marred by an overly greedy monetization model that would make even Mount Lady blush.
All in all, it's worth a play, but just know you won't be unlocking much of anything for a long time, and that one Character Unlock Ticket you get at the beginning is going to be all you get until then.
The Good:
The gameplay is simple enough to pick up but complex enough to learn and devise strategies.
The game is true to the anime aesthetic and is fast paced enough with a small enough arena that you aren't just wandering around for minutes on end looking for a fight.
The Bad:
Unfortunately some characters are unbalanced, but that's to be expected at launch for a multi-player game like this. This leads to teams often having Deku or Bakugo (or both) sniping you from a distance with heavy hitting attacks. However, it's not the end all be all. You can still beat them with other characters if your team plays well enough.
The Ugly:
The monetization and progression.
The monetization model is gachapon in nature, relying on rolling a random prize from a loot box. However, it is BEYOND grindy. In order to guarantee that you get the three characters available in the chest, you would need to spend hundreds of dollars on Hero Crystal's for roll tickets to buy loot boxes with (which I will detail below.)
Not to mention the other currencies, of which there are many. Like Gold Coins, the red, blue, and green Gallery Pieces, Agency Points, Character Try Tickets, Character Tickets (beyond rare), Hero Souls, Event Points, roll tickets, and Hero Crystals, which are all agonizingly slow to earn, needing loads of each for everything, and latter (Hero Crystals) being the premium currency and prohibitively expensive to purchase.
The only way to get the locked Heros that are not locked behind rolls or the agonisingly slow Special Liscense levelups, is with Character Tickets. You are given one at the start, but in order to purchase any more, it costs Hero Souls, which are obtained from duplicate rolls. You can buy your first two Character Tickets for 100 and 200 Hero Souls. Each Character Ticket after will cost 300 Hero Souls. Meaning you will need to roll 300 duplicates to unlock the remaining two characters locked by Character Tickets. As explained below, that's about $500 worth of rolls, if you roll duplicates on every one.
The breakdown of Hero Crystals and Rolls:
It takes 10 roll tickets for one roll or 100 tickets for ten rolls. Each ticket costs 100 hero crystals and Hero Crystals start at 2,500 for five US dollars. You get Exchange Points for each roll, since you can roll duplicates. Each character costs 200 exchange points. That means, if you buy the large packs and have terrible luck, you'd need to spend !!!$983!!! and roll 600 times to unlock all three characters available.
The real kicker? When the "roll event period" ends and they swap out the current loot boxes with different ones, you lose all of your exchange points.
To keep it short, I actually enjoyed this game, it's simple, fun, inoffensive and a good way to pass your time.
It does have few issues, for example the combos are short, many characters are somewhat similar to each other, there aren't many game modes, and the game crashes from time to time (rarely, but it does happen), but other than that, the gameplay overall is okay, and there are some interesting mechanics that work well.
Last but not least, I don't really like the gacha systems, rolling for skins and emotes, unlocking characters is very randomly generated, even though I do appreciate the fact that you can still play characters you don't have with the help of some coins that you can use up to 3 times per day, and you can also unlock some characters by leveling up, which is great!
As for the customization, it's quite underwhelming to be honest, there's barely anything worth unlocking. Also the User Interface is absolutely terrible, very clunky and messy for no reason.
That being said, it's a free-to-play game so it's worth trying out, give it a shot!
Final Rating: "Average" ~ 5/10.
Pros:
- Stable servers and quick queue times.
Cons:
- No Solo mode.
- Fairly unplayable without competent teammates. 80% of games involve being 1v2 or 1v3 with your team either watching or running off.
- Trash role and character balance.
Super greedy gatcha ruins entire game. You got a 10 pull that costs TWENTYFIVE DOLLARS. One character a season and now skill set that aren't in the same banners. It cost 2,000 tickets for a gaurntee of either or FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS! You can't even save points cuase they reset every 10 days. Not to mention you don't even get enough tickets a season (they expect you to save multiple seasons in advance without telling e
What comes out until they day before) with hoarding and the battle pass which gives barley over a single ten pull. This is some of the greediest bull **** I've ever seen.
