  • Summary: It's a Bumpin', Bruisin', Brawlin' Bash! The many worlds of Nintendo collide in the ultimate showdown of strength and skill! Up to four players can choose their favorite characters - complete with signature attacks - and go at it in Team Battles and Free-For-Alls. Or venture out on your own to conquer the 14 stages in single-player mode. Either way, Super Smash Bros. is a no-holds-barred action-fest that will keep you coming back for more! Expand

  1. A multi-player hit. Believe me people, you and your friends will spend hours on end battling it out to the very end. Whether it's 2 on 2 or if you think you're a badass 3 on 1.
  2. A highly addictive and satisfying game. Super Smash Bros. is a classic game for the Nintendo 64. If you haven't played it or its successor, and there certainly aren't many of you kinds of people, what are you waiting for? Do it!
  3. Fast paced and accessible to everyone. Nintendo of America were mad to consider not releasing this game in the US. Any doubts about it's quality should be cast out of your mind. It's fun, addictive and it's got a superb multi-player mode.
  4. Simple, intuitive, and very easy to pick up on! If you liked the multiplayer interaction of Mario Party, are eager to see classic Nintendo characters beat each other senseless, or are starved for a fighting game, then this is the one for you!
  5. It'll never be confused with "Street Fighter" or "Tekken," but then again it was never meant to. Nevertheless, it’s the most original fighting game on the market and possibly the best multiplayer game on any system.
  6. Simple, easy to pick up, but most importantly-fun. It's not a Tekken, but it is fun and has a long life through the insanely great four player mode. And who can resist beating up Pikachu?
  7. Low-grade crap pretending to be a Nintendo star-studded event. Even though it appears to be a culmination of many fantastic Nintendo games, it simply isn’t even close to resembling anything remotely good.

This was a revolutionary game in its time. There had never been anything like it before and there honestly isn't a single game out there today that compares to the series despite several attempts to mimic it. It all started with this brilliant title. Electric Playground should be banished from both the gaming community and stripped of any recognition as a reliable game journalism source. You can't even read the original review anymore because you get a 404 error. Honestly a 20? Bias and opinion is completely out of the window here...I've heard more reasonable opinions from ten year olds. Expand

A very enjoyable fighter. The visuals are decent with colorful settings in spite of a somewhat low polygon count and somewhat blurry textures. The game is simple in its control scheme and is pretty fluid in the physics and maneuvering. Single player can get a bit repetitive because of a rather low amount of modes and unlocks, but is still pretty fun to play. The multiplayer is the strongest part to this game, and offers fun times with your friends while not getting too old. The low-budget music also sounds great, and is pretty catchy, although I do prefer Melee's and Brawl's music over this. Level design is nice and gameplay is fun and addicting. While I do think this game safely earns third place to its two predecessors and is better for those who would rather experience nostalgia, it's still an awesomely fun game. Great addition to your N64 library, or for your Wii Virtual Console. Expand

No, this game is not as superior as its sequels, but the quality action and amount of items keep things ship-shape. And who doesn't want to see Yoshi take revenge on Mario for all the times the plumber chucked him off a cliff? Expand

The multiplayer in Super Smash Bros is fun, the graphics are cartoonish, but single player is just repetitive. The controls are clunky, jumping is stiff and hard often mainly because of using up for jump. Seriously, WHY "UP" FOR JUMP!? why can't I use "A" to jump? who ever came up with using "up" for jump is a real dick sucking moron! (Sorry, I had to say it) The minigames are BORING! Target smash is dull, the platforms can go f*** themselves, racing to the finish isn't so bad. The characters are really weak but the worst fighting character in this game is Jigglypuff, oh my ****ing god where do I even begin... why does Jigglypuff suck you may ask? well, she's slow, her punches and kicks are weak, and her sing is irritating at times.

Super Smash Bros. is fun at times but can bore you out quickly. Score: 2/5.
