  • Summary: Liberation is set in New Orleans between 1765 and 1780, in the period between the end of the French and Indian War, up to the middle of the American Revolution. The game tells the story of Aveline; a female Assassin of mixed French and African heritage. Brought up in a world of privilege and contrasts, Aveline becomes a strong willed woman and an avid opponent of slavery. Expand

Perhaps this is greatest compliment I can pay Liberation. This game restored my faith. Ubisoft can still produce a good Assassin's Creed game.

Even a low budget Assassin’s Creed is more enjoyable than most AAA games. There’s not much to do besides the main story and you can deal with Liberation in less than 7 hours, but it will be time well spent. [03/2014, p.56]

Assassin’s Creed: Liberation is a nice game with good graphics, but doesn’t have the great overall-quality and the high production value of the other Assassin’s Creed-titles. It lacks in terms of story and new gameplay-elements. If you are a fan of the series because of its gameplay and haven’t played Liberation on PS Vita, you should consider to buy the game.

    Quotation forthcoming.
  5. Ultimately, Liberation features a fantastic premise with an evocative heroine that sadly doesn’t measure up to any of the games in the main series. If you are an Assassin’s Creed nut who really wants to see the fictional universe from another perspective, give Liberation a whirl. If you are just looking for some more Assassin’s Creed action, the other six games are better than this one.

Liberation's portable formula translates into home format losing part of its original appeal. The skin-tight Vita game fits better Aveline's sexy silhouette than this recycled outlet version. That is also technically out of fashion, after Black Flag.

A slightly above-average game has finally its bad remake. Its graphics is basically the same, and all of the original design's mistakes now catch your eye even more.

This game suffers untimately from the graphical power and gameplay AC4 had, but it's far from a bad game. It is enjoyable and due to the female protagonist and the setting offers a different approach with a great atmosphere. Of course from time to time one is reminded it is a Vita port but I actually was quite surprised how much better the graphics look. For 20 dollars a really good game. I give it an 8 Expand

Nice game nice history and character i loved this game

Being originally a PSV game, it's better than I expected. Worth an 8. And I've
decided to be generous to give a more positive score to the game which gave me some pleasure playing it. Though short and unchallenging, it's not monotonous. Expand

It's a fantastic game. It's more barebones than AC4 as expected BUT the price reflects this. You get to explore the tale of a completely new character and in my opinion the graphics really impressed me as i didn't expect A+ polish, I expected a HD PS Vita game. Expand

Horribly optimized for PC. Can play AC4 just fine, which is a far more graphics intensive game, but this game runs like garbage.

    The
storyline is kinda interesting, not as great as running around as Ezio or Cap'n Kenway, but it's ok. I'll give it a few points for that, but the overall quality of the port on many PCs, mine included, is just horrible.

If you want to get the game, this is one where you'll want to wait for a patch or just get on console.

To put it simply, this game did not feel like assassins creed... First off, the game play felt rough and the graphics could have been made smoother. Second, The story was okay but lacked depth ( I won't say how because it might spoil it for some who are actually going to buy this... game). Third, and this is just my opinion... If you want a female protagonist to have that "epic" feel (which is really hard to generate) like Ezio or Connor or Altair you need to present the character animation as such... it is hard to get into the groove of the game with the protagonist looking like a stick figure weighing no more than 50kg...and portraying her as a hardcore assassin/killer with a touch of "model". It doesn't fit well with the game (at least for me), All that was needed was a bit more mass and height...

    Bad Game...
