Millennium (A New Hope) by Aldorlea Games
A game I got from a bundle and that ended up being an excellent RPG all-around.
Takes about 20 hours to complete, has several modes of difficulty. Even allows you to set your own parameters for encounter system and rate, which is a very nice and innovative gameplay feature. Characters are really well rendered and the production values are quite

First in a series of five games (the fifth is due out in the near future), Millennium: A New Hope starts the heroine, the feisty optimist Marine, on her quest to save the common folk of Myst. As the previous reviewer stated, the player chooses the difficulty level, the encounter rate, guided or non-guided paths, and, later in the game, a special skillset for Marine. As the previous reviewer stated, the player chooses the difficulty level, the encounter rate, guided or non-guided paths, and, later in the game, a special skillset for Marine. As well, the player can pursue a pretty long list of sidequests, including a variety of boss fights (one of which is the most difficult I've encountered in an RPG!), or simply follow the main quest from beginning to end and still have a great time. The mapping is very high quality, the scenery gorgeous in places, but I think one of the game's greatest attributes is the characters. They're beautifully drawn, surprisingly engaging, and are, in my opinion, what makes the game unique. It's a common plot, saving the world, but told in a fresh way with plenty of humor. Definitely a fun game for anyone who enjoys old school RPG. Expand

Got this one in a bundle, very good game, surprisingly long even by roleplaying game standards. Characters a bit different from the usual formula too.

preachy as hell right out of the gate

I agree with the game's social commentary in general, but it's awfully self-righteous and strawman about it.
Also, needs a more varied soundtrack, coz damn.

This game is no Baldur's Gate.. But it has a different purpose. One of down side of MilleniumĀ“s gameplay is you can control only one character, instead of a whole party. True, this is dissapointing in a way, but the game is not meant for playing with other people online with various mods. Story wise, I can not say the main plot is terrible but it's too generic and predictable. The gameThis game is no Baldur's Gate.. But it has a different purpose. Overall, it's a ok game but do not expect a masterpiece like baldur's gate serie Expand

After the previous successes that Aldorlea has had with the Steam release of both 3 Stars of Destiny and The Book of Legends, I hope to continue seeing the team release its catalogue on the platform. These are games that deserve to be experienced, and without being on Steam it's far too easy for them to be lost on the sea of the Internet. Even with all the little issues I had with Millennium: A New Hope, I do hope to see the next chapters re-released in this manner to see the story through to completion.
