Very atmospheric first person shooter you can enjoy the best in small doses. Hardly anything to criticize because it is free and promises long-term entertainment. [Issue#204]
Overall, we liked Battlefield Play4Free. The formula of quick, full-on combat makes this a game you can pick up and play when you have a spare 15 minutes or so.
I love this game. It's incredibly fun and somewhat difficult, but all-in-all an awesome game. But, you have to buy funds, which is a **** because without them, you can pretty much do nothing.
As a free online game it would be hard to find a better one than this. The game has so many options to customize your soldier with weapons, attachments, or clothing that you could play a different one every time you went on there is you like. There is little to no hacker abuse and the community is mostly positive. I personally love this game and will continue to support it.
Even with some technical problems, a quite serious problem with cheaters and some connection issues, there is potential in Battlefield Play4Free, which offers a great relationship quality-price -that is, a very decent shooter for no money at all, which is a pretty good deal.
It all leaves me wondering why, at this point, anyone would choose to spend money on Play4Free when they could essentially get a larger, more complete game for just a few bucks more than the minimum Battlefunds purchase price.
It plays average, it feels average, and the payment system offers average content at an unjustified price. Unless you're a die-hard fan, this is a pass.
Those who like to have Battlefield Experience of multiplayer. This is good way to have it. It is free and does need a gaming computer to **** you have a good internet connection you should be fine. But I find some of the special weapons overpriced but it OK.
This game is very well made, it has helicopters, jets, jeeps, APC's, and tanks! It is a very fun FPS game. But it says "Play4Free" but you start out with the crappiest guns ever! so its wanting you to pay for the good guns. ive been playing for quite a while now, but now our of nowhere it says leaving game. and its pissing me off! its worth the download, and worth the money to pay for guns etc. but play for about 3 months before buying funds. to make sure it wont kick you from the game for no reason. so download it and play4yourSelf
While it may not be the best game ever made, it is a very enjoyable experience. Although most of the people who play this pay for better weapons, the gameplay is good. I do recommend this, but just barely
This game was great at 2011-12, since then it only went straight downwards. The developer doesn't bother to release any new maps (except for reworked and often really bad Rush maps), no news, nothing. The game is full of cheaters (wallhackers, aimbotters are daily bread), whiners, hackusators, people who smash team vehicles for fun and so on.
But the main problem are class limiters and level limiters and weapon limiters and I dont even know what else limiters. You spend connecting all the time (which is slow), then you get kicked because you happen to be sniper (which is probably the last class in form of influence on battle (for example engineer is far more important imo)), and then you take some other class, reload everything again, reconnect again and get kicked for some stupid weapon limitation for your gun (which you usually invested money to).
Not to mention the constant repetition of the same maps (sharqui (rush) and oman, which gets boring reeealy fast. I know its not much problem of game developers, rather people who run the servers, but still... Avoid this game, used to be fun, now it's boring disaster and waste of time with no perspective.
Now, I know this game pissed off a bunch of players who've stuck with it since the beginning, but I'm here to talk about the experience should you start playing JUST NOW (which is probably why you're here in the first place, right?)
Alright, I'm not going to lie: this game is pay to win. With "permanent" weapon unlocks taking a minimum of 17500 credits to buy, and the better ones taking up to 90000, the system basically shoves the need to buy premium currency (BattleFunds) straight up your arse. Add to the fact that there are insane, utterly OP boosters up for grabs for the right amount of Funds, and you have a game where every newbie gets steamrolled from the moment they spawn in. Coupled with the arduous leveling system, taking hours and hours of playing time to level up, and you'll get frustrated pretty quick.
The class system of BFP4F is also quite convoluted and annoying. You cannot switch loadouts or classes during a match, and thus must exit the server in order to change your weapons, apparel, or class. Also, you start with two free soldier slots and must buy extra slots (with *sigh* BattleFunds) in order to have all four classes on one account. This can be easily remedied by creating multiple accounts, however.
All this being said, there are good things to say about this game as well. First of all, the gameplay is quite fast-paced and realistic, leaving you aching for the respawn timer to count down and soaring with glee after every kill. The graphics are pretty nice if your computer can handle them, which is always a plus. Lastly, the physics and playstyle of the game do require a certain amount of learning and skill, no matter whether you hold a level 1 or 30 weapon in your hands.
My verdict? BFP4F is worth a try, but don't expect to be able to fully enjoy the game without paying through the nose in $$$
