  1. An acquired taste, if you like to work out the old gray matter, this is the game for you.

Once you learn the ins and outs of the complex menu-driven tactical situation, the battles are absolutely breathtaking. [Mar 2002, p.78]
  3. Those wargamers will be able to find little wrong with BCT. (Plus, it runs like a dream on the lowest of the low-end PCs!) It’s a complex game, but it’s a satisfying experience once you get your hands dirty.

To get anything out of it, you'll need to do a fair bit of thinking and studying. If you don't enjoy a program of mental weightlifting in your entertainment, steer clear.
  5. Those who love controlling every aspect of a battle, those who have time to spend mastering the cumbersome interface, and those who don't mind managing a daunting number of units may enjoy BCT Commander. Everyone else should stay away.
  6. 50
You have to own military manuals to make any sense of the thousands of acronyms which are "understood" in the game.
