Break Blocks is a unique game requiring not only that you match the beat but that you match the right directional key, unlike guitar hero andBreak Blocks is a unique game requiring not only that you match the beat but that you match the right directional key, unlike guitar hero and other similar games, it doesn't stop there, as you progress the colours combine making it harder and meaning you have to hit multiple keys to each beat. The game is fun, I've been playing it for hours (and the demo before release), with the price being what you want (minimum $1) it to be I have to recommend it. It provides hours of fun for nothing compared to the standard $60 for a game. I would give it a 9.5, if the option was available, but with half rounding up and the developers working on multi-player, I can only see this getting better, and for $1 you can't go wrong. 10! ;D Collapse

Break blocks for me, is a one of a kind game, never seen anything like this one. It's pretty hard to explain what is this game and what to doBreak blocks for me, is a one of a kind game, never seen anything like this one. It's pretty hard to explain what is this game and what to do in it, but i'll try. You have to click the right buttons at the right time, might sound easy, but this game gets really hard at later levels. It might remind you of guitar hero, because they're both music-based and require you to hit buttons at the right times. Furthermore, BB might be the perfect game when you're bored as hell in the office ;)
I'll give it a 9, i can't give 10, because it lacks multiplayer, but devs said it will be released in the future. You can pay for this game as much as you want, if you didn't trust me on this review, you can buy this game for as low as 1$. 1$ for a fun game is really worth it IMO ;)

I often like sitting hours listening to purely music, and playing a lot of different games with my sound off. Games that combine both make often a very great way to just have some fun while listening to music. Break blocks is an easy game to get into, and offers a familiarity in a sense to other audio based games like guitarhero or audio surf. However it differentiates itself by not only having to press buttons based on the audio, but actually having an addicting "color" tetris-esque puzzle game underneath. Combining the witts required for puzzling games together with the skills needed for audio games. This gives the game a depth I've not seen before in either the puzzle or audio game genre. The game offers a nice clean and effective cartoony cellshaded look, and got great audio to boot. The game doesn't require a lot of controls but even so everything is user customization able. In terms of gameplay I think this game currently ranks above all the famous audio games. However due to the lack of ability for adding your own music to the game it cannot topple them yet (although I believe the feature will be added in the future):

For now I'll settle with giving this game a 9.

Break Blocks is a truly rare Indie game. It's the type of game that you have to practice to be good at. It's clean and polished and if I'dBreak Blocks is a truly rare Indie game. It's the type of game that you have to practice to be good at. It's clean and polished and if I'd have to compare it to another game or games I'd say it's kind like Guitar hero meets Tetris meets Simon. This game will undoubtedly give you hours of fun, and for the price it's a steal. $1 minimum to buy or you can (donate) more if you choose. They also send you a CD in the mail which is cool. Do yourself a favor and pick it up, you won't be disappointed. Expand
