Yes, the pathfinding can be disastrous at times, while the mission variety leaves room improvement. But the fighting system is intuitive, while reminding me of the classic Baldur’s Gate in its best moments – as rare as they might be.
Hand down one of the more interesting fantasy RPG/rts/TD blend of the year, hell not sure this sort of blend been tryed before, it does a lot right a few thing mildly wrong, i'm giving it a 9 cause it's not perfect but ubisoft took a hell of chance on some experimental gameplay genre here. definitly worth plzying and buying full price. expect min 80+ hours of gameplay out of this.
Side note yet another game a bit like fortnite that got no advertising whatsoever, what is it with those stealth titles releases atm?
First of all this game is pretty hard. It is crazy twist of Total War, Settlers and DoTa series. We need to conquer some lands, expand Your territory with new buildings on real time strategy map. RPGs parts, and i am talking about leveling up Your characters, are made very well and interesting. The most important and funniest thing in this game is that we are operating with champions which have got unique affinities to elements of nature like lighting, fire, water. There is a various villains on each battle map we need to conquer and we need to chose which champion we will use, for example fire-champion easily kick-ass metal-based opponents. Graphic style is beautiful, and skill tree is very fancy. To be honest i already have 15 hours in a game and i do not know how even that happened. If you are looking for some good strategy fantasy game i can recommend it.
Champions of Anteria is based on an excellent idea but has too many structural problems. It is, in the end, a two-faced product, divided between a good strategic section and a boring action phase.
Boring, repetitive and strategically negligible, Champions of Anteria is a way too simplicistic mixture of real-time-strategy and management. The five champions are blatantly unbalanced, the core of the gameplay requires you to repeat the same identical missions until the end credits, and the only hint of variety comes from the boss battles.
Gameplay and jokes get repetitive mid way into the campaign. Pretty simple linear rpg component. Building material and poison spitter solve everything ...
I loved the Settlers series from BlueByte and this game was announced as the successor. Sadly it eliminated the good elements of the settler games and replaced those with a boring and tedious combat system. I'm so disappointed.
2020.01.14 - game won't start on windows 10.
A search on the Ubisoft forum and Steam Community showed that the problem was known for about a year, a large number of tickets were created, but Ubisoft did not solve the problem. Apparently, they do not plan to do it.
However, the presence of a problem due to which the game simply does not start is not a sufficient reason to remove the game from sale, or add information about the presence of problems with the game on the official pages of the store.
It is this approach of the publisher Ubisoft that deserves a rating of 0 out of 10.
SummaryChampions of Anteria is a tactical RTS with Active-Pause Mode in which you can fight with three of five Champions in diverse and challenging battles. Each Champion is aligned to a magical element, and players must strategically choose the powers they bring into a battle, as interactions between affinities constitute a very important part...
