  1. The big difference is the technical move forward. Action is fluid, special effects are pretty, and the cutscenes are funny and entertaining. Even the in-game physics, like building explosions and collapses, are comparable to first person shooters.
  2. It’s a near-perfect concoction of speed, style, nostalgia, and fun.
  3. It's action-packed gameplay; attractive, colorful visuals; and star-studded videos are sure to draw in both hardcore fans of the series and large numbers of new players. [Apr 2007, p.20]
  4. Like a once-great champ who's come out of retirement for one last crack at the title, C&C3: Tiberium Wars doesn't quite have enough tricks in its repertoire to defeat its younger, fresher opponents. But while it may be more contender than king these days, it still packs one hell of a punch. [May 2007, p.62]
  5. Full Motion Video, the return of Joseph Kucan, the introduction of a third race to play, and the incredible competitive multiplayer package really shows just how much was spent to make this game the best production possible.
  6. After years in the wilderness, RTS is pretty cool again right now, and something as cheerfully straightforward as this is just what's needed to stop the big braininess of "Company of Heroes" and "Supreme Commander" leading to another plunge into an inaccessibility that turns more casual players off the whole genre.
  7. The game is as homogenous and unimaginative as a tabloid cover, and is as far past its prime as Billy Dee Williams. It’s still a decent RTS, but it wins with quantity, not quality, just like Colt 45.

I enjoyed the game and even bought Kane's Wrath. It's very pretty. It is not the best C&C game, but it is the last good one in the series. RA3I enjoyed the game and even bought Kane's Wrath. This is an excellent game in it's own right and an even better game when in the C&C perspective.

The gameplay will have you mass spamming a select one or two types of units and hurling them at the enemy. The game lacks any type of strategic depth, despite the introducion of things like directional armour. Spamming and rushing with your vanguard units are the order of the day and ultimately doesn't amount to much more than a refinement of 90's RTS mechanics. Even tech buildings, while sometimes worth capturing, are fairly uninspired. If you enjoyed the previous games I guess this is worth playing, even if it's trying to seel you repackaged 90s gaming. Be warned though, if you liked the GDI/NOD story and expect this to be a faithful successor to Tiberian Sun, you can forget about it. You can literally count on a few fingers the number of elements that survived from TibSun. CNC3 feels more like a regressive sequel to Tiberian Dawn than anything else. The bottomline: if it wasn't for the weight of the CNC name, the polished graphics, marketing and the general big-budget extravaganza in its production, Tiberium Wars would attract the score it really deserves - which is 60-70%. Bad gameplay. Graphics look like Dawn of War, stale. Doesn't match either Supreme Commander or COH, in fact, doesn't match Dawn of War.
