Nov 14, 20122I wasn't expecting too much from a WW1 game as this is not my area of interest but boy and I was right. This is the worst game I've played for a long time. Poorly balanced, lacks depth, graphics are bad. It is the new king of WW1 strategy failures.

Nov 13, 201210Wonderful strategy game ! Started playing yesterday and so far the game completely fulfilled my highest expectations. The graphics are really amazing , you completely get sucked into the action.
Highly addictive game : after completing a mission , you want to proof your tactical skills straight away in the next campaign.
My girlfriend won't see a lot of me in the next days. -

Nov 14, 20124I've seen better TBS games, this one got boring rather quickly. The game doesn't feel very polished, I guess just another rush job which seems to be quite common nowadays.

Nov 13, 201210I wasn't expecting too much from a WW1 game as this is not my area of interest but boy was I surprised. This is the best game I've played for a long time. Well balanced, lots of depth, looks great. It is the new king of WW1 strategy games. It's a must have for all strategy gamers.

Nov 13, 201210Great stuff ! This is the kind of game that will cost me my marriage one day. : ) Highly addictive in the sense that you simply can't resist doing "just one more round". And then when you finally finish, you want to start a whole new campaign right away. The excellent graphics really suck you into the world of the Great War.

Nov 13, 20129A fun game taking you back into history. It has all the easy to use features to make it highly addictive. But the real plus is the storyline taking you back in time and making you feel how the war was like from a commander standpoint or as a soldier. Sliderine is rocking with some cool games lately. Keep them coming.

Nov 14, 20122Don't get too hopeful based on other reviews, because the game is clunky in most respects. Artificial intelligence often loses it, and will seldom flank you.
The manual is decent, but everything else about the game is so ugly, busted, or otherwise unpleasant that it all but negates that one positive point. -
Nov 15, 201210Haha, read about this at the developers Facebook page, what a pathetic guy posting false negative reviews and even false positive ones using faked publishers names as a login! Just to bring the score down.
If you want to read real feedback and reviews about this game just visit Slitherine, Matrix, The Wargamer or Grogheads. It is a good game, but I set the score here at 10 to vouch my support! -
Nov 13, 201210This is simply a great game, good controlling, good graphics, no bugs and i just love the theme.
Finally a game where we ve been waiting for and will keep us playing for hours and hours. I was crazy about panzer corps but this one is even better and takes you to higher level of playing. Keep up the good work guys!! -
Nov 15, 201210Good game, fun to play a WW1 Grand Strategy game for a change. Had no bugs so far, reading some of the negative comments below, they clearly have not played the game, a shame some negative comments don`t even have to do with Commander The Great War. The game is nice and I recommend it!

Nov 15, 201210Bought it straight from Matrix games and it id a very fun fame, AI is extremely good and the whole game is polished and very well done. If you like strategy games this is a solid choice. There are not many games set during The Great War and this game is well worth the money.

Nov 15, 201210Don`t understand at all the negative reviews? This is a good wargame, period. Check the Slitherine and Matrix forums and see players reviews and AAR`s, what a bunch of lies beneath. Maybe this game is a 8,5, but because of all the negative lies posted below I vote a solid 10! What a pathetic attempt to bring down a cool game...
-
Nov 15, 201210I would give this game an 8.5 to 9, a very good strategic wargame. It gets a 10 out of support of all the fake negative reviews and my support.
Go to the developers or publishers websites, and ask the real players! -

Nov 17, 201210Great to see a game about WW1, there should be more of them! The game simulates the trenches in the west front quite good. My germans managed to take Calais but then ran into a solid line of french and british. Now have to deal with Russians in the east!
-
Nov 14, 20121Awful visuals and sound. Awkward AI system that isn't actually very smart. Quirks with inventory management and commands. Also, the campaign doesn't feel nearly as realistic as the games it attempts to mimic. Not recommended

Dec 15, 201210Easy to play, hard to master. If you like high quality boardgames of military strategic genre, you won't be disappointed with this computer game. The AI is the best in the business. There seems to be a lot of faux reviews for this game here, unfortunately.

Dec 25, 201210A beautifully playable, awesomely open-ended game focusing on a much neglected part of history where the emphasis is most definitely on 'what if'. If you're a fan of Paradox's Hearts of Iron series you'll love this.

May 3, 20138Really enjoyabe in a seldom used niche. Frank Hunters Guns of August is better on land but not naval. This uses that dreaded Commander factor of ten for units. Historical, simuulates well the static trench warfare. Worth the $35.
