93Shines as one of the most addictive and compelling strategy titles of 2001.
-
It's refreshing to see a development team add so much to a sequel while maintaining the spirit of the original.
-
91Truly one of the most beautiful games I have seen this year.
-
90A fantastically challenging and fun ride...[but] if you have high blood pressure and don't react well to stress and frustration, don't buy this game. You'll go crazy and your heart will explode.
-
The game uses a completely new 3D engine that allows for the rotation of environments so you can see where the enemys path is going to take them, in even more detail than ever before.
-
90The pre-rendered backgrounds...are rich in detail and create a perfect setting for the game. I don't think the entire game contains a pixel in a wrong place.
-
90Commandos 2 Men Of Courage has literally sucked the hours out of my life. The gameplay is like sheer crack addiction folks.
-
It was a long wait for the sequel, but Pyro spent the time innovating a game that was already innovative to begin with. You're gonna love this one.
-
Although its shot through with bugs and screw-ups that would remand a lesser title to the bargain bin, the game itself is so damn good youll forgive almost anything to keep playing. [Jan 2002, p.94]

89Feed the dog, kiss the wife goodbye, and tell work that youre very ,very sick then start playing Commandos 2, and dont blame me when youre staring at the ceiling in the middle of the night thinking about how you could have completed the mission a better way.
-
I loved it! It made the hours fly by like minutes...Once you get used to the interface and become more efficient at positioning the camera just right, you'll soon become totally addicted to this title.
-
88Even better than the first--its design is much more focused, the missions are more involved, and the expanded options for your commandos are all excellent.
-
A hard game. Those without degrees in strategy gaming will find their task daunting and, in many cases, too hard to accomplish. Lucky for me I'm well versed in the ways of the special forces.
-
80Get through the initial stages of frustration and you'll realise what an incredibly title Men of Courage really is. Missions are far more involving, objectives much more focused.
-
The difficulty is daunting, the missions feel like intricate puzzles, and the frustration factor is high. Still, nothing compares to the moment when you finally get it right.
-
I realized that playing this game is a little like having a girlfriend: You experience brief periods of joy followed by extended intervals of utter confusion. [Nov 2001, p.29]
-
Insanely difficult. Non-masochists need not apply. [Jan 2002, p.90]
