  1. Finally there’s a multi-player mode and it’s excellent, too. There are 15 different settings for single players and much more. Whether you like to play all alone or you prefer to play with or against others, you’ll enjoy Anno 1404: Venice.
  2. A great expansion for an already good game. Related Designs improved the Multiplayer and delivers a great RTS experience with a new bunch of missions and phenomenal graphics.
  3. A worthy addition to the Anno series. [Apr 2010, p.100]
  4. Anno 1404 finally manages to bring multiplayer to the table. The only gripe we can think of is the lack of a new faction. Venice is, however, a strong expansion to the series.
  5. More than 300 new missions to play and some gameplay twist make Venice a good Add-On. Unfortunately, the lacks of a single player campaign mode is a great disappointment.
  6. Although you're unable to build your own Venetian city, Dawn of Discovery 1404: Venice is still a good expansion. Online multiplayer is what we've always wanted and if you're able to schedule at least six hours of playing, you're in for a heck of an experience.
  7. This is a lightweight of an expansion pack if you primarily play alone. The big news here is to finally compete and cooperate with other players.

The new trading partner and espionage mechanics are fun, although not essential. The multiplayer co-op is awesome! Building an empire with a friend cooperatively is massive fun. And the 15 new scenarios provide about 40 hours of new gameplay. So considering DoD is the greatest city-building game ever, Venice is an essential upgrade for it. Another must-have. Expand
