  • Summary: The year is 1942. Adolf Hitler has succeeded in resurrecting dinosaurs. The reptilian horde has trampled Europe and the Mediterranean. Can nothing stop the Nazis dinosaur army?

Dino D-Day is a frantic, action-packed multiplayer game that transports you to a World War II that should have b
een. You and your friends can battle online choosing to serve the cause of the Allied nations or the Nazis. The Allied side includes six playable characters each with unique weapons and abilities to use in combat. Gun down a Dilophosaur with your trusty M1 Garand, blast a kamikaze pterosaur out of the sky with your Thompson sub-machine gun, or toss out a dead jackrabbit to lure a raptor into a trap.

As an Axis player you will have your choice of three human classes and three dinosaur classes. Ambush your enemy with speed and stealth as the Raptor, mercilessly pound the enemy with a heavy 20mm gun as the Desmatosuchus, rampage through enemy groups as the Dilophosaur or pick up a body and throw it at an enemy for a double kill! Or if you prefer a rifle in your hand, the German soldier classes are the perfect complement to their dinosaur comrades.

Despite the presence of dinosaurs and a good dose of irony, the game fails to distinguish itself from many other exponents of the genre.

Sloppy controls, class imbalances, mediocre maps and a general lack of polish make Dino D-Day a tough game to enjoy. Once it's done making you laugh, there isn't much else worth sticking around for.

Like a dinosaur skeleton in your local museum, Dino D-Day is barebones, missing some pieces, and ancient-looking. [July 2011, p.78]

Awesome idea but amateur execution means it costs an arm and a leg for what it is. [June 2011, p.62]

  1. Great game and a lot of fun, if you like Team fortress you will love this game. All it is missing is some more players!! definitely pick it up on steam Expand
  2. Haters gonna hate! The only problem i see is that not enough people are playing right now. It's $10, the graphics are fine, the gameplay feel is similar to TF2 but it has a lot of interesting player types and attacks. Just like TF2 you need to take some time to learn how each character plays. It's definitely worth a try if you would like a change of pace. I don't see why people focus on bugs... there arent many, far less that most releases these days.

    GIVE IT A TRY!!!

  3. Now featuring new maps, modes, and playable thunder lizards I felt Dino D-Day is well worth a second look. This game is not bad, it needs work on the graphics but the game-play is very fun. Expand
  4. This is just a poorly done Day of Defeat mod and should not be advertized as a game. The idea of dinosaurs in a WW2 setting is fun but bugs and outdated graphics ruin the experience. The game is exclusively multiplayer and there are no servers! When I tried the demo with a friend, he created a server and it got full so fast that we had to wait in line to connect :P. But above all, this game(mod) is not fun; controls are clunky, throwing grenades is sketchy, maps are basic and the gameplay is unbalanced... this is not worth paying for. Expand
