If you were like me and worried about Dragon Age II, you can relax. It's not quite the same game, but where it's different it is better.

If you were expecting a game on par or even better than Origins, you'll probably be a bit disappointed by this second chapter. A year and a half of development isn't enough to craft a masterpiece, even for Bioware, and the final product is plagued by bugs and repetitive dungeons. That Said, Dragon Age II is still a great RPG with a fantastic fighting system, a grand storyline and a lot of other redeeming qualities, and if you like the genre you should definitely check it out.

Playing through the depth and awe of such a fantastically crafted series of stories and legends is a remarkable experience. But perhaps not one that is meant for everyone.

While the gameplay is far from perfect, Dragon Age II is an absolute must for anyone interested in the world, the lore and a good story - but anyone hoping for something that feels and plays like Origins might want to adjust their expectations accordingly.

At first I was like... OMG what a trash game. Crappy combat system. Stupid camera etc etc etc. Just like most of the reviews here are. But I've forced myself to continue playing and after I while i realized that the game is not bad at all. You have the same funny character which made Origins what it was. You have the similar quests. A considerable amount of choices which affect many aspects of the game. Even the order of doing quest sometimes results in different dialogue options. The ability to import saves from the Origins and the minor effects (different quests and choices) somehow make you feel that there were a effort put in that game. I have found the game quite challenging at Nightmare difficulty if you think that the combat is like on a film just try that. The only think BIoware must do now is fix the camera, and make the dropping out of nowhere enemies disappear, put some more effort into the level design (after a while it get stupid to fight in the same cave/warehouse for 10 time) and the game will be as good as the original. Lets hope they will be able to do that with one good Ultimate edition and an expansion. Expand

i expect its a unique fail, and unique treason of the pc community. i loved your previous game , Bioware was a god for me , but now , i lost my faith.
this game is not Dragon age 2, its an adventure action game for massive selling action.

I am a fan of the DA:O and the expansion Awakenings. I wont go on a hate fest like soo many, I perfered the original dragon ages as they were mainly made for PC and in my opinion better made, You also had different beginnings for different classes which was a plus. I do not mind the gameplay of dragon age 2, or even the graphics. The thing that i really hated on dragon age 2 is the reuse. Basically 1 cave with blocked off areas etc etc and stuck in one town (going out to smallish places) limited the sense of adventure, that is my reason for the low score is because they cheapen out on this game and took a lot of shortcuts, the first made you feel epic, this it was barely on the positive side. After playing dragon age 2 I can't help but feeling a bit cheated. Not many games including skyrim can beat dragon age origins but it's the matter in which da2 failed that upsets me. The emotional attachment to characters compared to da:O is non existent, the storyline in my view is boring and the setting of the game leaves further disappointment. Background after background is overused and predictable enemy spawning causes frustration. The first game in my view is bigger in size better in quality and nearly has more depth of story in the intros combined than all of da2Don't buy this game you'll regret it.
