  • Summary: Merciless Agents stalk your every move. You'll dodge their bullets. Defy gravity. Break all the rules. Explore the hidden depths of the massive dreamworld that has enslaved the human race. How far down does the rabbit hole go? Are you ready to find out? Are you ready to Enter the Matrix? The game stars all of the key characters from The Matrix Reloaded (likeness and voice over), including Neo (Keaanu Reeves), Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss), Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne), Agent Smith (Hugo Weaving), Niobe (Jada Pinkett Smith), Ghost (Anthony Wong), Sparks (Lachy Hulme) and Persephone (Monica Bellucci.) 1. I've never seen a game based on a popular film that was so good. Fighting, focus, guns, explosions, agents, oh my!
  2. All is not perfect in Enter the Matrix, but for its few flaws, the game delivers what it is meant to: a very convincing experience inside The Matrix that looks, smells, and feels like... The Matrix. [July 2003, p.76]
  3. Enter the Matrix isn't a perfect slice of interactive entertainment, but it does provide at least a dozen hours of action-packed fun and serves as a clever vehicle to expand on the events in "The Matrix Reloaded."
  4. Less of the ‘groundbreaking title’ Infogrames claimed it would be and more… well, crap. We’d suggest renting it at best – and that’s only if you’re absolutely desperate to see what you’re not missing.

This is a great game with ideas you may have seen in GTA 3, Max Payne and more cinematic filled action adventures. The influence of the Wachowski Brothers, who definetely are great video game enthusiasts, is visible at any time. This adds to the experience, which is rather thrilling: you become one of the good guys (or gals) in the MATRIX universe. In my German version I found some bugs, when sound missed at some cg scenes, but this will be adressed by patches in future, I guess. Gameplay is varied a lot and is truely interwoven with the film plot. So it synergetically enriches the whole experience. Most of the time you kick the ass of security men, police dummies or "agents" hand-to-hand or with a good deal of firepower. Anytime you may "focus" and get more time to react/do incredible stunts, which is quite helpful, when facing overwhelming opposition. The Hint System now and then drops a clue to more advanced controller "tricks" and ways to master the more difficult situations. The tension is always high and the motiviation, too. You are eager to learn more of the story. All in all, ETM is worth the money and all. A decent cinematic action-adventure/1st person shooter you will enjoy with a 1 GHz machine with a GeForce2/ATI 9000 or (preferably) better graphics card. Expand

Yeah, dodgy round the edges, would have liked the real characters, but still, those moves are so funky!

What a let down! I bought this game thinking it would be like Max Payne on fire w/ ninja monkeys chasing after me with big deadly knives but instead I waited almost 2 years for this piece of garbage! This game should suffer the same fate as E.T. for Atari 2600 but b/c of all the fat Matrix fan-dorks we have to watch people rot their brains over this! Expand
