Flatout 2, while an awesome game, pisses the player off and will injure you during extended play. Feel your tends begin to snap as you continually push as hard as you can on the up arrow or W, or whatever you set it and thats how it will always be, you can't set one control to two buttons, no, and you can't change during races so if your right arm gets tired, good luck finishing Flatout 2, while an awesome game, pisses the player off and will injure you during extended play. The AI is very good at avoiding hard targets and there aren't too many, but there are essentially five other racer cars that only get in your way and two that you compete with: you will never see people aside from Sanchez or Benton and yourself (if you're good) finish in the top 1-2-3 for races. The AI cheats if you maintain first place long enough, they will fly past you at 220 mph when you're pushing it to the limits in the fastest car with nitro burning a mere 170, it is extremely frustrating. After Playing Flatout 2, I was actually quite appauled at what the series had evolved in to..

The Racing stages are much the ssame - although now there is a 'Streetracing' Section to the game... Very Original and the Stunt Events have been made well - Unplayable in my opinion - replacing your car with a 'High Powered Rocket Car' and adding obsticles not only on

and the Stunt Events have been made well - Unplayable in my opinion - replacing your car with a 'High Powered Rocket Car' and adding obsticles not only on the track - but in th air; no longer in highjump will it record the highest peak of your jump - but the height in which you hit the net..

The Game has gone downill... And I for one - don't like it.

Looks like it could be a good game, but absolutely unplayable on the keyboard. Tapping a direction will make you do a 360 degree spin. I've had no problems with Wipeout or GTA and was hoping for a similar arcade experience but it looks like it's meant for a controller or steering wheel.

  1. There’s no getting away from the fact that FlatOut 2 is damned good fun, and will bring you back to the days of Destruction Derby and its ilk. However, as much as we appreciate the tweaks – and that’s really all they are – to the first game, there are still a few too many fundamental flaws which bring out a wail of frustration or a tut as you consider how easily certain annoyances could have been avoided.
  2. Where FlatOut felt like racing in a field, FlatOut 2 feels like racing on a film set. It has been reshaped into the archetype, competent arcade racer. [Aug 2006, p.89]
  3. The single-player Career won't take all that long to complete, but with a hugely entertaining multiplayer mode both on and offline, there's a good chance you'll continue playing for a while after.
