Its arms, legs, face, and tender cushy butt are all average to the core, but the total package is still cuddly.
  2. If you love FPS you should definitely give this one a try!
  3. Effective and fun. Solid gaming, plus the little addition of stamina and good use of character classes make it worth a go.
  4. 4D definitely set out to do what it intended, however. To make a solid, fast-paced FPS that is solid in both single-player and multiplayer settings. Now if they get the design part down, they would have had a winner.
  5. I found Gore to be kind of mundane.
  6. Gore isn’t a bad game but it isn’t an overly good one either. It offers a quick run and gun game for those after a basic first person shooter which doesn’t rely on storyline for the player to enjoy it.
  7. A poor single-player campaign and quirky interface issues make the game frustrating to all but the hardcore death match crowd.

Is it worth the twenty-bucks? Without hesitation I say "yes". Is it the same value as a "Serious Sam"? Nopers.

An utterly middle-of-the-road shooter on its way to obscurity.
  10. It's a just passably competent old-school shooter that sets its sights pretty low and then manages to hit that mark.
  11. Overall, the multiplayer is the only thing Gore has going for it. I admit that it's quite a kick, and the atmosphere of the game makes up for the sub-par graphics, and disgustingly annoying single player.
  12. The biggest problem with Gore is a lack of originality: None of its dimensions live up to the level of the best first-person shooters on the market in the last few years.
  13. Other than the sheer speed, there's nothing particularly revolutionary or memorable here, but it does everything just well enough to be fun. [Sept 2002, p.81]
  14. If it had offered a more comprehensive and fun single player experience with a great storyline, it might be worth it for the legions of FPS fans.
  15. Depressingly average in almost every respect.
  16. No one in their right mind should bother playing this game. There are so many better alternatives out there right now.
  17. Gore's single-player game shoots way over par. [Sept 2002, p.80]
  18. The title tosses in a generic story and characters in senseless gameplay.
  19. 40
Suffers from outdated technology being applied to a game design that doesn't really know what it wants to be.
  20. 40
If you’re looking for a single-player experience that rivals most of today’s other RTS games… look elsewhere.
  21. Suffering from technical issues, ugly graphics, and uninspired gameplay Gore is destined to be soon forgotten in the annals of shooters.
  22. Poor graphics, unbalanced weapons, and tired level design can't begin to help this game. [Sept 2002, p.90]

I don't know why everybody is complaining about Gore. It's one of the best multiplayer games available with a lot of fast paced action and of course fun :) Full Review »

Well, the game isn't horrible, but it certainly isn't great. If you can find it for really cheap, it will make an okay LAN party game. It's not bad in multiplayer, and the map-specific objectives aren't bad--but it doesn't break any new ground that hasn't already been broken by Counterstrike. In single player, you could have more fun beating your head against a wall. Headbeating is less repetitive and has a better plot to boot. Full Review »
