  • Summary: Set in the untamed West of the late-1800s, GUN is a free-roaming action-adventure game that takes players to a world without laws where greed, lust and murder are rampant. As Colton White, a vengeful gunslinger, players must straddle the line between good and evil as they showdown against corrupt lawmen, a murderous preacher, renegade army psychopaths, merciless outlaws and unforgiving Native Americans, while waging war on horseback, collecting bounties, and commandeering trains. Players travel through an action-packed landscape of high mountain wilderness, deserts and bustling territorial towns in an epic story of betrayal, greed, and revenge. Multiple gameplay styles include: strategic gunplay and precision shooting, stealth tactics, and use of explosives. Embark on numerous side missions to master gun slinging and horse riding. Players can unlock secret weapons and upgrade skills and abilities to improve their weapon and equipment performance. [Activision] Expand

  1. The core gameplay is very refined and every aspect of the presentation is top-notch. If the game was a bit longer, there really wouldn't be anything to complain about.
  2. An exceptional Old West action game that everyone should play. [Feb 2006, p.34]
  3. The experience just doesn't last long enough to be savored. Gun's main story missions are exciting, but the main plot is over so quickly that the whole thing just ends up feeling rushed, and the various side missions aren't compelling enough to hold your interest after the end credits roll.

It is spectacularly motivating and certainly very addicting. Gun is one of the best quality games I have played in my entire lifetime. The storyline is very intriuging, excting to follow, but mostly extremely intense. My one complaint is of the shortness of the main campaign. I think the designers of Gun, should put a second game out with more explosive missions and fascinating free-roam maps. Expand

Although very amusing to play, the replay value of this game is quite low. Once everything is completed, there is nothing much left for second time around. After installation and a few hours of Wild West fun, it was removed again. Expand

I beat this game from start to finish in 8 hours and it wasn't hard to do that at all (ie: I wasn't rushing or "powergaming" in the least bit). Everything about the game is perfect, except for the 8 hour length that makes you feel extremely aggravated once you beat it after 8 hours. Why bother installing GUN when you will have 8 hours of a great time and then after that it will forever be collecting dust as a dead game on your shelf that you never touch again for the rest of your life? Not playing this game saves you the aggravation of experiencing a lot of fun in a game that should literally have been 10x longer than what it is. And very soon ends up leaving you feeling empty and frustrated because you want more, but you are stuck with the sad reality that it's over forever on the first day you installed it and there never will be more than that to the game GUN.
