You can cross-link things like light switches and doors so that the guards unwittingly take out their own security systems, their colleagues, and even themselves. It's pretty funny.

Gunpoint is fun, innovative, simple, engaging and a whole host of adjectives that would take far too much time to write out. So I will say this instead: Play this game because you won’t regret it.

Gunpoint is a short, well-crafted title that combines film noir, stealth, and hacking puzzles into a incredibly fun gaming experience. No one mechanic or playstyle takes precedence over the others, but all are equally balanced and fun to play around with.

Gunpoint is a refreshingly welcome addition to the burgeoning stealth genre. It nails player movement, puzzles, and storytelling in games, and completely removes anything that stands in the way of these three.

Smart, fun and challenging enough without being punishing: Gunpoint is a brilliant indie game that every nostalgic of the Amiga and PC “golden age” of gaming shouldn't miss.

Gunpoint borders on puzzle game genera without fear, giving us a great crossing of genres, short but intense.

Become a detective, who's using obstacles on his way as launching pads to his success. Gunpoint is a dope to the action-stealth genre with its entirely new and unorthodox gameplay. The only thing spoiling the overall experience is that the game is short.

Gunpoint is stylish, incredibly atmospheric and quite deceptive as it is actually a clever puzzle rather than stealth action. Too bad it is only 3 hours long, and there is no incentive to revisit the game when you’re done with it.

I was in Beta, and I've purchased the game too of course, and I've played through it over 35 hours now. Not bad for a "3-5 hour game" I'd say. Right now it's $9, normally $10. For a finished game that is as fun as this, that's a steal. Try the demo, too, as it even has a bit of humor that you get at the end! Don't like Steam? You can get the demo and a DRM-free copy on the game's website (www.gunpointgame.com). The two special editions both include in-game developer commentary, which I'm not even halfway through the game and already I'm laughing, learning, and truly enjoying what Tom and his Team have to say. Whatever you do, don't miss at least trying this one! Expand

It only lasts 3-4 hours max... so take that into consideration when buying it. The stealth/puzzle aspects of the game are exceptionally done, and there are a number of solutions to each mission depending on how violent/stealthy you choose to be. The story line is engaging at least at first, but it gets a bit too cliche toward the end and runs a bit long... but still not bad. Overall, it's an enjoyable game that ends at exactly the right time, highly recommend if you can grab it on sale. Expand

Gunpoint is a 2D platform, puzzle game of corporate espionage.

Not exactly sure how I came about this game, but once I played the demo version I was hooked in and had to get the full deal. The game is a about a trench coat spy-like character being framed for a murder he did not commit. His goal is to clear his name by infiltrating some corporate facilities and hacking the data from the servers.

The core of this game are basically two mechanics. One of them is the puzzle element. You get your hacking gear and you can access the wire layer of the game. With this you can hook up different things with each other, connect the light switch to a door or power outlet. Flick the switch and a guard can be electrocuted from the outlet or the door will open up. There are different coloured wires to which you get access once you hack the proper coloured control panel. Pretty neat idea and well executed.

Second core mechanic is jumping. From the start you get your jumping boots that let you jump quite far. You get a trajectory of predicted jump and you just lunch yourself. This aspect reminds a bit of Ronin but the focus of this game is more on stealth than action. And it nails it pretty well. Hiding in the shadows to lunch at the opponents or completely avoiding them. Using hacking to turn of lights or distract the guards to pass unnoticed. This works quite well I have to admit.

The graphics are pixel art. Looking good. Nothing spectacular but nothing annoying as well. Didn't mind it at all.

The weakest part of the game is the story or how it's told to be exact. The whole plot is introduced via text box conversations. There is a lot of the text - too much. But that's not the biggest problem. The worst offence is that the game tries to be funny. Tries and fails in this regard. The forced humour gets really annoying really fast. I lost interest pretty fast and soon was skipping over most of the text. It does nothing for the gameplay anyhow.

In the end the game was quite enjoyable and felt fresh. I had fun time playing it. Though I must admit the last few levels felt a bit repetitive. As a whole quite a decent game nonetheless.

    1) It's too short. Steam workshop would be good way to share levels from build in editor.
    2) In conversations between missions you have choice what do you want to say. And it's really funny to give really sarcastic comment but it looks like that doesn't change anything. I hoped for some kind NPC reaction.
    3) If you want to beat the game without trying to kill guards in fancy way you will have quite simplistic game. I beat it 2 times and game lacks new mechanics, enemy type, mission types and so on. Each mission looks the same and only 3 types of enemies with patrols set from one door to another or without patrol route is not all that much...
All in all Gunpoint is very good game. There is demo available on official site and on steam. Europeans can buy it from official site for 10$ instead of 10€ on steam and steel get the steam key.
