  1. Goes where no space RTS has gone before with its incredible visuals and moderately realistic gameplay. The game’s superb attention to detail places it in the ranks of the best modern RTS games.
  2. With all the game elements perfectly balanced, this is a worthwhile purchase for any fan of the real-time strategy genre.
  3. Visually stunning. But more than that, this is game that will challenge cerebrally in a way few RTS games have in the past.
  4. Pitted against other 4X titles, the individual parts of Hegemonia never seem to glue or mesh into a compelling and cohesive whole.
  5. An enjoyable interstellar romp, wrapping rich resource management and hypersonic combat around a gourmet 3D engine. [Mar 2003, p.93]
  6. 77
Drop-dead gorgeous... [but] one of Hegemonia's major failings is that its real-time combat is usually simplistic and dull.
  7. It falls into this trap, sacrificing gameplay and strategic choice for the "drama" of heavy scripting. [Mar 2003, p.109]
