  1. IL-2FB AEP is the Premiere WW2 simulation. It is the benchmark, which all sims should follow. In spite of some of its flaws, nothing comes close to the action this game provides.
  2. No flight sim has ever been more convincing...IL-2 Ace continues the series' climb as the runaway leader in the World War II prop-sim wars. [June 2004, p.72]
  3. This list of minor flaws could go on and on, but its total length is minuscule compared to the massive number of excellent additions this expansion serves up.

For sim heads who don't own the original, this is a must have. Players who are hoping to squeeze a bit more fun out of the original game have to weigh the decision a bit more carefully.
  5. A must have if you absolutely love the genre. The casual player however, may not find this to be one to add to their game library, but is definitely worth the price.
  6. Everything is of the traditionally high IL-2 standards and is comparable qualitywise to what was in Forgotten Battles, even if there isn't all that much of it.
