Infernal borrows a lot ideas from classic action adventures like "Deus Ex," but manages to stand on its own two feet. Awesome graphics, brisk action and realistic environments make Infernal well worth a try. [Apr 2007]
I like the graphics and the maps , while the weapons and abilities are great. Figuring out the game without reading the manual , was fun from the beginning. I like the way you have to retrieve ammo and weapons from enemies , because it makes you vulnerable. Finding enemies who apparently are hiding , or looking for you is shocking and fun. The trailers don't do this game justice , as it is fun and even wild enough to give it a 9 of 10. The only lack of anything I see is that the gameplay is not fully in an open enviroment as some games are. Definately , the sound is great , especially with the ability to select 3D sound , where the weapons sound real. The game is kind of spooky , while you kill enemies in long robes in a church etc. What's not to like?
I liked the game, although sometimes it can be irritating. The graphics are cool, the story is never-seen-before, and the gameplay is nice (especially your demonic powers). It's rather fun.
Graphics aside Infernal is a pretty mediocre third-person shooter in a genre already boasting Resident Evil 4 and Gears of War: given this, and Gears' inevitable arrival on the PC, it's difficult to recommend Infernal.
It’s a clean game, at least, texturally crisp and evocatively lit, but the feeling of playing an interactive 3D Mark demo is discouragingly strong. [Apr 2007, p.88]
A very solid 3rd person shooter. The Story is about betrayal and finding out the truth. Gameplay is like any other 3rd person shooter, but you have some unique skills like being able to sap dead bodies for health and ammunition. The Enemy is sometimes pretty stupid so for some people that are looking for something a bit more challenging might get disappointed. There is also no checkpoint saving and manual saving. It only uses 'Autosaving' so if you die before a certain point then have to start all over. It can get in the way of an enjoyable experience. The game is pretty much linear shooting with a few puzzles but overall straightforward. Overall, a good solid shooter that plays similar to Max Payne.
i don't understand why people are giving this game a high score yes it has a good theme yes it has a good story but it has the most terrible gameplay i've seen in ages so repetitive and so boring
If you are considering picking up this game because you are craving some good 3rd person action with a gritty backdrop and compelling theme, Skip this title and play Dark Sector or Velvet Assassin or better yet Alpha Protocol instead. This game on it's face looks polished, but is a complete letdown where gameplay is concerned, and the plot is so thin (there is very little setup and absolutely no apparent justification for your aligning yourself with the very organization you'd previously sought to destroy except some weak pretense that you'll need to "to survive." In the tutorial levels the lopsidedness really shines through, in places you'll die from falling less than a story (falling a similar distance in other games of this type merely hurt the player) while on the other hand without armor or explanation you can take truly ridiculous amounts of damage from gunfire on the "Medium" difficulty -- not to mention you gain health from looting corpses, essentially turning everyone you shoot into a health potion. Couple this with frustrating save convention -- you'll constantly find yourself doing GIANT stretches of minimally entertaining content when you accidentally happen upon something that can actually kill you (hint: it's a terrain feature or a boss battle) because the autosave points are insanely far apart and it won't let you save at will. Picture a pearl-polished shot glass, containing an ice cold gulp of diarrhea. That's Infernal. Purchase at your peril.
SummaryEvery thousand years a very rare planetary alignment makes Earth invisible to the Boss of the Bosses. Secret agencies of Heaven's and Hell's fighting each other for human souls, stop obeying any rules at all during that time. And even though Hell's agency traditionally does not obey rules, the balance between good and evil becomes gravel...
