If the game is good or not depends on your perspective and on what you were expecting from it. I was expecting an interactive storytelling game with some few simple puzzles and this is exactly what I got.

The aspects of Lifeless Planet that succeed elevate it past the technical shortcomings, but only so far. You will find a compelling world and a story worth experiencing, but you do so at the expense of well-polished animation and gameplay that hinders the overall experience.

Lifeless Planet is a really fun experience, but not a very good game. I’d still recommend it based on the entertainment I got from exploring the mysteries of the game’s world, but I wish I didn’t have to deal with questionable puzzles and mechanics to do so.

Lifeless Planet looks like quite a nice sci-fi novel, which squeezed very awkwardly in a game backbone and then as chewing gum was pulled to the maximum possible length.

Despite having an interesting premise, with a space mission gone wrong on a desolated planet, the experience offered by Lifeless Planet ends up being a bit lacklustre. The graphics is on the weak side and do not do the varied environments justice, while the puzzle- and platforming sections are forgettable at best. A few peak moments could make the game pass among sci-fi enthusiasts, but I would have preferred a more compressed story.

It starts strong but then the fascination fades away fast. This Wannabe-Journey for most of the time is nothing more than a boring platformer.

The game's environments have the appearance of a 3D sandbox but you quickly discover how linear they are. From time to time you'll find a dead-end path with a gameplay-irrelevant collectible doodad perched at the end of it, but the environments offer little of interest outside of the straight-line path to the next platforming segment.

This game is incredible, thought the graphics might not be upto date with other modern games, you have you realise that it is still in pre alpha and is not finished. The game is simple but effective I don't want to give spoilers but it, in my opinion is a remarkable game! Expand

Great atmospheric game.Very amazing music voice acting was also good.Lifeless planet has more mystery that you will uncover it in a lonely situation in a deserted environment.Very good graphics for an environment.
But annoying thing is sometimes frame rate drops very low(i'm using gtx 660).but it is not a big deal still it is an awesome game.
Stage 2 Studios first game was interesting and atmospheric great story driven game....

Overall I love this game, though it feels less like a "game" and more like a book that you play through. It's very simple and relatively easy, but that is appealing to some people. It was a nice low stress break from all the other fast paced games I've been playing. The voice acting stood out as being particularly good for a low budget/indy game. Some complain that the environment isn't beautiful enough, but it's supposed to be a wasteland, not a tropical paradise, and I feel like it fits the bill really well.

The only reason I don't give it a 10 is because there are some glitches. Got stuck in a rock once or twice, killed by an enemy I was no longer standing on once, and a couple times the arm refused to activate until I restarted the game. Nothing huge, but still kinda annoying.

I loved the early access levels when I played a month or so ago. This game had so much potential.
Unfortunately the best of the game is in
those first few chapters. The mystery and atmosphere that is built up is lost very quickly some 30 minutes or so in. The story line is just not strong enough to carry this game when there is very little danger or jeopardy in the environment. Despite the feeling and sense of large open spaces and as moody and atmospheric our Lifeless Planet is, there is no great joy or reward in exploring it beyond the obvious path.
As a gentle diversion this game just about hangs together. Some of the platforming elements are fun(ish) as are one or two of the "puzzles", there are also dotted around the game just enough "oooh" moments to bring you back to play again. The music, when it is there,is the real star of the show.
What stops this being a VERY low score is that this is the work of a single Dev, and that at the core of Lifeless Planet is a kernel of a really great game.
Is it worth the money? No not right now, but if you get a chance to pick it up for half price later on then might be worth a little look see.

This game is certainly no Journey. It takes too much time and offers little in return. Hours of running and jumping might be ok if the locations are beautiful and the story is engaging, but this it not the case here. Starts off pretty interesting but becomes a chore after 30 minutes, like the author's inspiration suddenly went to kickstarter campaign. Shame, because i like this kind of games and i want to see more of them. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I get that this is an indie videogame so few people worked on it but really... This game is horrible. from the models to the textures to the animations to the plot. Also the gameplay is a pile of sh*t since all you do for hours is to follow footprints and do few jumps, there is kinda nothing to explore because the maps are so flat... Anyway always remember this rule: if it has been made in unity and has been funded on kickstarter, DO NOT BUY THAT GAME. Expand

This game should be called "Jumping and walking like an idiot on the Planet"

I can't believe I wasted my money in this game =[
    Everything
is soooo bad in this "thing" (if you can call it a game) that I can't express how much I hate it =
The graphics are "mediocre" for a indie game (there are a lot of stunning indie games, this is not one of these)
The Story doesn't even worth telling, really, doesn't worth =[
The audio is OK but not great
The gameplay does not exist '-'

This game should be called "Jumping and walking like an idiot on the Planet"

You will walk a lot and jump a lot.. That's it! Nothing more! Except for the countless times you'll die because you'll be stuck on rocks and the HORRIBLE performance drops (seriously, on my HIGH END ENTHUSIAST machine, this game runs at 25 average fps when there are any objects, walls, anything nearby).

And sorry for any grammar issues, I'm still learning english :)
