  1. A satisfying shooter blood feast, if that’s what you’re looking for.
  2. Necrovision is overall a good game, with some fun moments and original features, something to praise nowadays... but it does not reach to be a great game. Thus, combining the little awareness of the game in comparison with the latest larger productions, will probably make Necrovision go mostly unnoticed.
  3. The game delivers non-stop action from start to finish, constantly throws new enemies at you and gradually introduces new abilities. It won't be everyone's idea of a good time, but leave your brain on the installation screen and you're likely to have plenty of mindless fun.
  4. NecroVisioN falls short of its own self-imposed mark, to rekindle the old-school shooter experience, but that was a particularly high bar to reach. So if you fancy a simple run-and-gun experience with a few twists, you’ll get your money’s worth.
  5. This moody alternate-history shooter can be a ton of fun--it just doesn't put its best foot forward.

If the story had been a lot more coherent and decided whether it wanted to be tongue-in-cheek or tragic, then it would be a bit easier for me to get on board and enjoy the ride. Even so, having made the commitment to play through the game, I found myself appreciating the abundance (sometimes overabundance) of combat features and the hundreds of enemies waiting around each corner.
  7. Thanks to the close combat parts, Necrovision feels a bit like Serious Sam for brawlers. But all in all there's not enough variety and most of the 15 hours of playing time are filled with battles against the same enemies again and again. It's still fun though.
  8. The last half of this game is far superior to the first.

NecroVisioN is out-and-out old school corridor (or rather trench) blasting and is unrepentant about it. [Apr 2009, p.69]

Were NecroVision to turn up on Steam for less than a tenner, then it'd be worth considering. [Apr 2009, p.99]
  11. A weird mixture of WW1-shooter, zombies, demons and mechanical monsters. Though the bossfights are exciting, the leveldesign and the endless waves of dumb standard-enemies are boring. Graphics and sound are just average quality.

Crazy as hell Necrovision brings a new perspective to the events of World War One. Strictly a linear action shooter excels with an unconventional set of weapons and frantic boss fights. Unfortunately, the graphics don't match the extreme HW requirements. [Feb 2009]
  13. A game that can be fun, but overall not so good. Great visuals and an interesting combat system, with some good moments. But its story is not as good as it should be, gameplay is a bit harsh playing with keyboard, and it's so typical that it isn't a fun experience overall.
  14. Budget price and no more. NecroVision fails.

I'm happy to see WW1 get some attention without worrying about how accurate a video game is. I really don't think anyone is going to become confused about whether or not World War 1 involved zombies. 10/10 to make up for the guy being an ass. Full Review »

The AI is one of the worst in games history (maybe the Sniper: Ghost Warrior is the worst which i played). Full Review »
