  1. One of the better games from the consistently recommended franchise. [Dec 2007, p.80]
  2. Somewhat tellingly, there isn’t much more to say about NHL 08 – it’s a very good game, but the genre’s moved on and once again PC gamers haven’t been given the chance to see how.
  3. Still, NHL 08 manages to be an entertaining e adequate ice hockey game, and will remain as a valid choice for PC players who can’t afford the alternatives available in next-gen consoles.
  4. EA Sports has once again screwed PC owners over with a cut-rate edition of one of its big fall sports games, and NHL 08 is even more of a disappointment than its football and golf comrades. [Holiday 2007, p.83]

I don't know what all of these boobs are talking about.. this game is much better than 07. The player animations are so much crisper and all gameplay is devistating. 10 from me! Expand

I loled at the PC Gamer bandwagon jumping review. NHL08 was pretty solid. But where the hell was PC Gamer these last 8 years when the the NHL franchise sucked? They were busy giving glowing reviews (mostly) to this fading franchise.

05, 06 and 07 are 35% games, not this one.

EA needs to make a PC only front-end, with drag and drop line editing, and all will be moving in the right direction once more.

If you have 06 and enjoy it, leave this one at the store. You'll hear the same dialog for the most part, it looks pretty much the same, though the new hybrid controls are an ok addition, just not worth $40. $20? Maybe... If you haven't purchased a game from this series in a long time, give it a shot. I've had some controller issues, but I'm not sure of the cause yet. (Saitek p3000) Expand

So disappointing... Graphics/Sound/Interface not updated from 07. The controls actually seem worse. I feel like I have been stolen from.
